History
The Bear Pit at the Malton City Zoo was once the home to several bears of different species, including Black Bears, Kodiak Bears and Grizzly Bears. A Polar Bear exhibit was in the development process just before the outbreaks. The Zookeepers hope to open that exhibit after the zombie problem has been solved.
Current Use
The Bear Pit is frequently used as a respite area by zoo visitors when the Lion Enclosure is overrun by over-stimulated zombies causing a run on the only known slushie machine in the City Zoo.
Barricade Policy
Survivors are encouraged to keep the barricades at EHB in this location.
Animal Update
As of this report, at least one bear seems to have been seen within the zoo, possibly two or more. A polar bear, a grizzly bear cub and possibly a panda. Make sure to hand them a bit of fish, bamboo, or whatever it is they eat if you see them.
Have you seen an animal wandering the city of Malton? Report it at the Zoo Website and the Zookeepers will do their best to relocate the poor creature to its proper home.
History
Mar 2007-Dec 2008 The Bear Pit was another hotly contested enclosure inside the City Zoo. A group calling themselves the Zombie Zoo Animals liked to congregate here and attack zoo visitors who sleep inside. Visitors to the zoo were advised to sleep elsewhere until this situation changed.
June 7, 2007 -- Drama Club staged a performance of "Apocalypse Now" in the The Bear Pit of the City Zoo for the 11 survivors there as part of their Outward Spiral Tour of Malton. The group plans to travel in a counter-clockwise expanding spiral from the center of the town to the outer edges. See their group page for performing groups and schedules.
