Description
Bright green, almost fluorescent green paint highlights this eyesore of a building which had continously lowered property values in the surrounding area beyond even the scent of the animals from the near-by zoo. On closer examination the quarantine has not been kind to the building as numerous panes of glass are missing on the higher floors and you can see multiple other coats of paint where the green layer has peeled off.
A squat little statue of a slightly rotund woman carrying two suitcases and bearing a Cheshire cat grin stands in front of the main entrance. Someone has recently placed a slightly misshapen top hat on her making the caricature even more absurd.
History
The Horder Motel carries a dark and troubled past. Many years before the-apocalpyse this motel was known by the more cheery name of the All Saints Motel and was run as a cheap but clean and safe motel by a charity group from the near-by St. Matthias's Church. However in the decade before the quarantine the inhabitants of the motel changed from the honest but low-paid workers at the nearby factory to a more unsavory collection of individuals who often frightened school children en-route to the nearby Malton Zoo. Locals began referring to these individuals as The Horde as they always traveled in a pack of at least 3 when hitting up nearby residents for spare change. So common became the catch-phrase that following the apocalypse all traces of the prior name were erased and a crudely painted The Horder Motel banner now hangs in front of the building.
