So, if a sysop created a page, reconsidered and deleted + noted it on SD, that'd be fine? What about images? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 00:15, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Images are meant to be included as well, if the wording isn't clear enough I will try and make clearer.- Vantar 00:20, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes to your summary.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 00:22, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
If clarification is made as to what Significant need is, what if it is linked somewhere else as a reference, or does it need to be on more than one page, etc.--Karekmaps?! 01:08, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
I would define "Significant" in this instance as "part of an A/VB case or a similar dispute." but I think it should be taken on a case by case basis - Vantar 01:26, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

We can already delete these pages if they're a simple typo, by moving them to the correct location, and deleting the resulting unused redirect as a scheduled deletion. The only time it would come up is when images are uploaded in the wrong position, I guess -- boxy talki 06:49 9 January 2008 (BST)

I already do this, and never note it on SD. Am I gonna get hit with a misconduct case for such past / future behavior? What is the purpose of the SD notation, really? Hell, what's the point of being a sysop if you can't at least wipe up your own mess without having to file paperwork? SIM Core Map.png Swiers 22:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

This is part of the unwritten rules. If i create a page and find it useless just a few moments after it's creation, i simply delete it without ever going to A/SD, and i believe that it's not only me and swiers that does so. Therefore, this policy is not needed. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 16:38, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
What about images? Can I delete a recently uploaded, if say, I misspelled the name? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 03:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok what about this: A page or image created by a system operator and no user other than the administrator has made substantial contributions to the page, and the page is not required for any significant reason. At the system operator discretion a notemay be left on UDWiki:Administration/Speedy Deletion after the page is deleted.

This change to the guidelines is not to give new powers to sysops, it is to bring the rules up to speed with the reality of the wiki administration. - Vantar 03:20, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Ug, just put it in voting. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 23:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, I think we can count someone using an image or a template a significant reason for it to be required. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 03:55, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Given the level of rules lawyering that can occur on the wiki adding some safe guards to prevent potential abuse is not a bad thing, what if we replace "not required for any significant reason" with "not currently involved in any A/VB or A/M case and only has 5 or fewer non-archived links leading to it"? Would that work better for people?- Vantar 05:45, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Maybe a minimum of 3 links is even better? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 18:30, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
No links at all. If it's being used by someone else, leave it alone, or show reason why it should go on a deletions page -- boxy talki 10:38 19 January 2008 (BST)
