UDWiki talk:Location Category Style Guide
I was wondering if it would be possible to adhere to one type of style for category names. Currently, this guide suggests using a combination of singular and plural formats which I find a little confusing. Arms, Banks, Club, Hotel. The Category list suggests that there is already some confusion in regards to Library/Libraries. I know that it will be a pain to make a change in either direction with all the pages that have been created already, but I think that it would prove to be easier to maintain in the long run. I don't have a preference for either singular or plural format, but would like to follow just one. --Lint 23:27, 16 March 2006 (GMT)
- Buildings is not currently listed. While the category misuse has since been resolved, I would once again like to bring up the the issue of non-uniformity in Category naming conventions. At this point I feel that plurals would be best. --Lint 01:57, 11 April 2006 (BST)
- This seems acceptable. Although, I should note that Redirects from one category to another shouldn't have the same problems as regular redirects to categories (ie the list should still pop up). Warehouse, where are you?
Where are the Warehouses? I was actually looking to see weither "A Warehouse" or "Warehouse" was used. Also, I am wondering about the singular/plural thing too now... I've made some location pages and want to be sure of the proper format. --Raystanwick 11:47, 4 July 2006 (BST)
Zoo/Zoos
In your list of Categories you have Category:Zoo listed, this Category does not exist. I created Category:Zoos awhile ago after finding the zoo pages on the uncategorized list. I went with the plural even thought there is only one zoo for two reason 1) the rest of the locations categories are plurals and 2) in the unlikely event the quarantine zone around Malton is extended to include another town with a zoo we won't have to go back and correct all zoo pages with a category change. Since the Zoo category does not exist I have replaced it on the style guide list with Category:Zoos if there were any reasons why it was in the singular and you would like it changed back please let me know. Necrotech buildings and building category
I've been removing Category:Buildings from NecroTech building pages, just leaving the suburb category, and Category:Necrotech Buildings on the page. It's been suggested that we make Category:Necrotech Buildings a sub-category of Category:Buildings as well. I tend to agree, despite NecroTech buildings being more important than buildings as resource points -- boxy T Nuts block it! DA 11:25, 22 July 2007 (BST)
