Enough rule creep. -- Amazing 03:58, 31 May 2006 (BST)
I've seen this happening, However I've not noticed any serious problems occuring with the current system to think this is needed. It would cause enormous amounts of work. Every user knows this is a wiki were comments can be edited, if somebody does and the argument doesn't make sense anymore, they usually know what happened. If you think it causes problems and makes you look bad just note in your own comment that it got changed. People usually know who to side with then. --Vista 16:02, 31 May 2006 (BST)
Amazing and Vista have got it nailed. This would be an absurd burden to place on our shoulders. I mean, just see how I altered Vista's comment, without changing the meaning in any way, shape or form. If I had to abide by that system while fixing up minor typos… no. Just… no. There is just no real need for this, the vandal banning rules for impersonation cover this. –Xoid S•T•FU! 16:48, 31 May 2006 (BST)
- I can see what you're saying, but I'd just like to note that I specifically exempted typos, grammar errors, and formatting/wiki code errors from my suggestion. Anyway, it was more intended to combat User A changing his comment after User B had already responded, making User B look like an idiot (or something along those lines). Anyway, if it sounds really terrible, I'll just remove it. --Bob Hammero T•W!•U! 23:40, 31 May 2006 (BST)
Bad idea, see if it passed you couldn't even correct a person's spelling. --Rogue 06:22, 15 July 2006 (BST)
