Background
Abusive boyfriends, pregnancy, parents that did not want anything to do with me; any troubles in my life seem quite insignificant now...
On the 2nd of July 2005 I was enjoying a showing of [War of the Worlds] at Rillie Cinema in Crowbank. However, being nine months pregnant, my water broke during the height of the movie. Thankfully Peter General Hospital was just a block away, and I could soon rest safely in the hands of the expertise of the workers there.
That night, I delivered into this world a healthy baby boy. The next day, everything came apart.
Without going into great detail in this specific journal, things rapidly changed. The citizens grew hysteric and terrified. With my newborn son on my arm, I tried to assist those broken down people who came to seek shelter in the hospital, but too soon the Outbreak had reached us.
Perhaps I sound apathetic, but I need to distance myself from these memories in order to focus on what is important here and now. Mourning for my losses may be done another day. A day when the world has been cleansed, and we can come out from hiding. I need to concentrate on my work, our work, at NecroTech, so as to create a better future for all of us. A future where there is no fear such as now.
I had been studying psychology, specializing in the methodology and behavioral branches of the field, when I found out that I was pregnant. Completing my studies after the Outbreak, I went on to devour all the knowledge I could get. I befriended a man from NT whom soon offered me a place among them, so that I could nurture my desire for knowledge and change, and since then, I have been a part of the NT Scientists of Malton.
"They're already here."
Some part of me find grim humor in that this was one of the lingo's for the last movie I watched before the Outbreak. Now I have no time for movies, lest it is a documentary in which there is something useful to learn. I've exchanged such a life for one of self-defense mechanisms, barricades and walls.
