June 28, 2007 Fort Creedy, 2131 hrs.
Our unit was airlifted into Fort Creedy this morning. We had all heard the rumors about Malton, but no one can really understand what it's like until you arrive. The whole base was a wreck, everyone was on edge, we soon found out why. As soon as we finished unpacking, they wanted to send our squad out on patrol. The Lt said it was routine, but we all knew it was because we were 'fresh meat for the grinder'. They had to send us out the back way, which I cant reveal because of supposed spies in here. Why anyone would want to betray their fellow humans I don't know. Anyways, we had to go out back because the gatehouse was being hit too hard. Five minutes out we ran into a few zombies. Christ, I never knew something could be that ravaged and still walk. We'd all seen the photos of them, coming face to face with one is completely different. By the time I'd gotten my nerve back, half were dead, the others quickly followed suit. But they kept coming...some would fall, only to rise back up moments later and join in on the barrage. We fell back into an abandoned factory, or so we thought it was abandoned. Macias, our point man, kicked open the door only to be mauled to death by a dozen of zeds inside. With some already behind us we were quickly surrounded. I ran out of ammo for my rifle and drew my pistol. They charged and broke our ranks. I managed to make it inside the building and barricaded it until morning. No one else made it.
June 29, 2007 Fort Creedy, 0034 hrs.
I was assigned to the United States Army Infantry today, USAI for short. They want to send me to boot camp again, so I can get used to they way the Army operates things. Not going to be able to write for about again for about a month. It's nothing heavy, just some light raids on zed concentrations.
August 17, 2007 Empty Warhouse in Shearbank
I dont know what happened, one minute I was fighting zeds the next we were running for our lives back to the safehouse. There must of been a hundred of them on our tail. As we had neared the safehouse, we could hear shouts inside and rifle fire from the windows. But what worried me most was the sound of people barricading the doors. A horrible realization dawned on us. Some idiot inside must of panicked and given the order to bunker up. One guy yelled insults and started tearing at the door trying to get inside. Unfortunatly those zombies behind us had caught up, and were about 20 yards away just as the guy got the barricades open again. A small bit of hope had lit up in me, but was quickly quenched when a mass run for the door had resulted in a twisted mess. By this time, those zombies were attacking us. Those still at the door didn't have a chance. They were so entangled that the zombies just ate them one by one. I saw 3 start limping my way, and proceeded to take them down. At the sound of gunfire more of them headed towards me and soon I was in hand-to-hand combat. Last I remember is a sharp pain in my neck, followed by being thrown to the ground, and then a shroud of black enveloped me. The rest is a yellow-tinted blur of blood, brains, gunfire, screams, and death. I woke up near this warehouse, strangely human again, about an hour ago. A sign on the door says i'm in Shearbank, over five blocks from where the safehouse was. I dont know where anyone is, the equipment that wasnt strapped on is gone.
October 5, 2007 The Went Building, 2034 hrs.
I found my journal today, after almost 2 months. Theres a lot to say, but I'm just going to summarize the current events now. I'm working as a mercenary in Stanbury Village and Ridleybank. I'm one of the few good ones out there, helping survivors out in any big sieges around, which there are plenty. Right now I'm working to protect the Went Necrotech building. It's not going too well, but were holding up.
October 27, 2007 Nichols Mall, 2256
After being dead for a week and a half somebody finally came around and stuck me with a needle. Nichols Mall is back under human control, along with the Went building. I'm gonna go head back over to Fort Creedy and grab some gear. Then probably head back to Ridleybank for the 5th of November.
November 1, 2007 Classified Location, 1831 hrs.
After meeting one of my former USAI buddies, I was talked back into rejoining the group. As such I'm not going to be able to help out other groups anytime now, sorry. On the plus side I wont be alone anymore either. Until next time... "
