- Spam - I prefer Emotes, from Peer Reviewed. Yes, exactly as last time. --Funt Solo QT 20:11, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Re - I provided points on the discussion page, would you prefer to continue on why emotes would be better then this?--Zach016 23:16, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Because I'd prefer emotes over useless flavour:spam items. Oh, and "streets is smokin" from Nubis is a reference to the "streets is watchin" graffiti spam that covered most of Malton back in the day. --Funt Solo QT 23:33, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- - so you search in manisons/office buildings/towers all the time that it would overly affect you? just because you woulden't use it, no one else would? this has a heavy potential for less spam as well then emotes. Continued on disscusion
- - Please, don't double-re. It's against the rules. I hate your suggestion. I think it's stupid - nothing you say will convince me otherwise. The fact that it's on the third revision just makes me more sure. You keep pulling it to avoid having it spammed or killed - and that's an abuse of the system. And learn to spell. Sentences start with a capital letter. --Funt Solo QT 09:18, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- - I pulled it so many times to fix its downfalls instead of leaving up unfinished. If people could point these things out in talk:suggestions instead of here we would be at this point on V1.0, or at least V2.0 (both went on the talk:suggestions), I like my suggestions complete, and this seems to be the only way. My only question is why do you hate it?--Zach016 12:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- - Did IQs suddenly drop while I was sleeping? I hate it for all the reasons I've already stated. It's stupid spam-generating pish, just so some arsehole can go: Hannibal says "I love it when a plan comes together". Hannibal smokes a cigar. What next? Pipes? Slippers? Bongs? Oh, wait, I know: emotes would be the best solution. There - that's logic. And not everyone has time to wander around talk:suggestions explaining basic logic to noobs, or even to have cogent discussions with peers. --Funt Solo QT 12:51, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- - So your saying my IQ dropped in that emotes would be better then this "spam-generating pish". Even though with emotes I could spam-generate pish until oblivion, while this has limits that prevents that from happening even when hell freezes over. Emotes can spam-generate pish until the end of man and longer so wheres your damn arguement there? Whats wrong if once in awhile Hannibal wants to "go: Hannibal says "I love it when a plan comes together". Hannibal smokes a cigar.", damn I never figured anyone would ever want to do that in a way that woulden't generate more spam then talking ever will. Guess us boys with our low IQ's can't wrap our heads around your spam free emotes. Compare:

to Hannibal says "I love it when a plan comes together". Hannibal smokes a cigar., which one clogs your screen more?--Zach016 20:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Unneeded
Your point is? technically no flavor is needed, technically barricades are not needed, guns are not needed. Jumping out of a building is not needed, buildings themselves are not needed. A little flavor never hurt anybody and the ability to do things is half the game. Its what makes the game fun to play and keeps people coming back. It would still be a game without any of the above, but would you play it? Just because you woulden't use it, does that mean everyone woulden't?--Zach016 23:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Remove trading cigars
Why? thats what makes this suggestion worth voting for in the first place. The whole point without it is gone. The main thing that drives this suggestion forward is the RP aspect to it, but that RP aspect relies on you enjoying a cigar with friends, or more importantly being able to congraduate someone by giving them a cigar that they can ethier accept or pass up. What im getting at is the group aspect in it, instead of just the individual.--Zach016 23:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Talking
The reason why I myself believe that this way would be better is both the presence of xplayer said: "", and the fact that I can say I did anything. zach said "yah killed 20 zeds there yesterday, with my axe." - xtime. This way its more in depth then talking, and takes a bit more on the users side. Not only that but I can say I smoked a cigar, 20 times over. Thats a hellva lot more spam then this way.--Zach016 16:57, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Clothing
The reason I don't agree its better this way because then its the never ending cigar, 95% of the roleplaying aspect is gone, and you can't give one to other people anymore? Thats most of the fun of it gone.--Zach016 16:57, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Emotes
or more specificaly, http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/PR_Class_Change:_Survivor_%26_Zombie#Emotes
The reason I oppose this is for many of the same reasons above. The gifting aspect is literly gone because "you see xplayer hand you a cigar" sounds wierd, can happen at any time and your apparently giving a cigar to everyone in the room. This way it takes more user comentment, actually means a bit more when handing it to someone, and you can't smoke 20 in a row with 20 messages producing more spam then anyone ever wants to hear. How would you like to wake up to:
you see john "smoke a cigar" -xtime
you see john "smoke two cigars at once" -xtime
you see john "smoke several cigars and cough wildy" -xtime
you see john "look at his watch" -xtime
you see john "light a cigar" -xtime
you see john "piss in the corner" -xtime
you see john "puke on sally" -xtime
you see john "light fire to the barricade" -xtime
you see john "laugh wildy and dance" -xtime
you see sally "hit john" - xtime
john killed sally - xtime
you see john "piss on sallys corpse" - xtime
not what I want to log on to.--Zach016 16:58, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- None of that's any worse than all the bullshit survivor's say to each other in busy buildings. Whereas, stupid tradeable spam items are worse. Imagine waking up to this: "Bobo smoked a cigar. [repeated n times for other players]" and then "Bobo offered you a cigar, and again, and again, and again [repeated n times for all the other players offering me cigars", and then an interface for me to individually refuse them all before I can do anything else. Oh, what the fuck's the point! An emote would let anyone offer me a cigar, or a spaniel, or a rocket-ship out of the city, or... --Funt Solo QT 23:35, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Doing an action would remove it, the potential in everyone trying to hand you a cigar or smoke one is very low due to their locations, unless your saying very many people would do so? and those same people could do so 20 times over with emotes so that elimates the issue where it would create more spam. Not to mention the fact the suggestions not implemented. It does bring to mind some improvements for a V.4 if this one continues to not fly. A limit of one person offering a cigar to another person at a time before someone else can offer would elimate situation N.2, Only the nearest ten people seeing the message would cut down on situation N.1 and only being able to offer the same amount of cigars as you have in your inventory would help with N.2 once again.--Zach016 23:49, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
would we not also need to add a tool to light this cigar? such as lighters or matches? also, how long do they stay lit for? and do they show up in your profile differently when you light it? a ripped and blood-soaked Santa hat, a lit cigar, black leather boots.--Scotw 19:04, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- For both simpliaty, the fact that other benefits would be expected and such we'll just say you automaticly have a lighter on board your person for survival reasons. As for it changing your profile or having a time limit, thats not included here although it is interesting and after seeing how this one goes through voting, it is something to keep in mind for the future.--Zach016 19:28, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
