Hey, and welcome to my Talk Page. I am trying to organize this place into some general categories...so try to post in appropriate areas. After a while I will retire your comments to the Archive area...any suggestions as to the layout of this page can be made below. I know that the layout is quite primitive right now, it will improve as more posts come in. If you would like your post deleted or moved, please tell me via the Removal Request Page below.

General Suggestions

About my user page, about how I can be a better wiki member, or anything you would like to suggest to me ;-)

Link Suggestion

Just thought I'd mention that the preferred way to link to pages on the wiki is in the

[[Some Wiki Page|optional different title]]

format, not the external link style:

[External_URL optional different title]

(there are various reasons for this, most of them technical, but it's also nicer looking).

Also, very interesting format you have on your talk page. I've never seen anyone narrate the circumstances around the entries before. What made you decide to do that? –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 04:58, 11 July 2006 (BST)

I was aware about that linking style, but I wasnt sure what the wiki name for my talk page or user page were. I tried User:Abslch and User_talk:Abslch as soon as you mentioned that and it worked. I really don't know why I decided to narrate my posts. I couldnt think of anything better...I know its odd, but oh well, it'll do for now. --Abslch 16:26, 11 July 2006 (BST)

A Very Sincere Apology

I recently had a conflict with a mod, in which I was flamed, and I flamed back equally strongly. The other player came forward with a very kind apology, and resolved the matter right away:

I'd like to take a quick moment to apologize. I don't have the time right now to respond fully to your comment, but I will do so as soon as possible (I'm responding here instead of on my talk page as I usually do because I don't know whether or not you would know to check my talk page). –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 20:34, 10 July 2006 (BST)

Actually, never mind. Responded on my talk page. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 20:40, 10 July 2006 (BST)

Afterthoughts: Maybe we should think more about our reactions to things. I realized through this small encounter that its not a wise decision to respond angrily to something you dont like, especially if your response is similar to the offense. People in glass houses shouldnt throw stones, after all...and we all know the Golden Rule. I learned that most people on this Wiki really mean well, and I should try not to get people on edge much.

Vandalizing? Not Me!

Recently I was experimenting with the danger settings for suburbs, and by copying incorrect codes, I managed to set three very dangerous suburbs to safe. Within minutes of my folly, this message was posted here:

What the hell are you doing to the danger report pages? Those suburbs are not Safe. They may not be Very Dangerous but they are Dangerous. Revert them or you'll be brought up with vandalizing. Sonny Corleone WTF 22:08, 9 July 2006 (BST)

Embarassed, I quickly reverted the suburbs as the message suggested (except for one that was changed before I got to it). A bit later, a mod posted this:

Warning Please do not vandalise this wiki. If you continue this behaviour, you may be banned from editing the wiki. Cyberbob  Talk  22:48, 9 July 2006 (BST)

I explained this situation to the mod and all was well ;-)

Afterthoughts: Well, I gained a lot of respect for Sonny in this encounter. I realized upon examining his profile that he is a zombie player. And yet when I accidentally showed certain suburbs as safe, which would possibly cause grief to survivors, he came to the rescue of the wiki, believing firmly that it wasnt right to make such unfair changes. Just thought it was a right fine thing of him to do. Also, I was surprised to find that I was not put on A Bothan Spy's "flame list" so to speak. He keeps a list of people, classifying them--I was sure I would turn up on it as a stupid noob--maybe cuz I am a bit of one ;-)
