Gus Notes
It is hard to come up with a semi-realistic military character without tying in some dates and having a deeper knowledge of military training, commendations, etc. So I have put a lot of classified monikers and such. Since there is no gameplay tie-in except basic class, I think the mystery is better served by this. Also, the game is more zombie camp than a realistic RP enviroment so being general probably fits better. It also leaves me some room to explain the lack of in game skills for awhile. I won't use amnesia (too cliche) but there will be some reason Gus doesn't initially demonstrate skills commensurate with his background. -Githianki 22:42, 19 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Background
Gus Grissom was born in Evans City, Pennsylvania. He graduated from highschool one year early, where he was a track and field star, as well as a promising science student. Despite winning a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford he left college before graduating to join the US Marine Corps. He served with distinction and was recruited by the NSA for special counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations which took him around the world.
Eventually however, he had a falling out with his superiors and left the NSA. He re-enlisted with the Marine Corps after a year of travelling. He had been assigned to cross training with the SAS in England, when the outbreak occured in Malton. Several portions of his service history remain highly classified and there is some confusion as to why he was ranked a private and assigned in England.
He is known to be friends with General Hogarth, commanding officer at Camp Baxter, who recruited Grissom for his newly formed Malton Special Services Unit.
