A bit of commentary.
I don't see what issue you have over the parody page made for the NWO. I made Save the Yeti as a parody group, as I don't actually support zerging, and some other notable groups have had parody pages of their own kept on the Wiki, for the sake of posterity. For instance, there's Red Bum (Red Rum,) and Phoolosphy Kneets (Philosophe Knights). I think it's possible to be civil despite having a parody page made about your group -- never did I see either Red Rum or PK to object to having these around. Please note that I am not looking to argue with you, just stating that your group is not the only one which has a parody made after it! --! 10:54, 13 September 2013 (BST)
- it's tasteless. Maybe the page needs more time to be created into something actually funny, but it's fairly deadpan and insults individuals by taking quotes that we're not particularly proud of. But, there isn't much I can do if everyone votes to keep it out of spite - Tough love, Sure. But not spite. I refrain making such pages to single out a group for the sake of popular opinion. I just figured it would be worth bringing up in an arbitration case, for whatever reason.
- I do find it curious that the "unNWOnted" part would make it into the parody page, because it does reflect some level of truth - which is ok by me because that's basically the basis of why NWO was created - despite criticisms of "having no goals" or "Being unorganized". You can't have a specific goal for an entire group that accepts everyone because a lot of players have goals outside of popular interest. It'll be noted that anyone who happens to piss everyone off will be immortalized on the wiki for doing so. We still have integrity, we don't accept cheaters and we will back anyone who is going to be crucified over arguably stupid reasons. H4ppy 24 7 21:10, 13 September 2013 (BST)
- I appreciate the civility! To anyone else who is haunting this user talk page, I partially did this to show that yes, it is possible for people to be civil if you approach them with civility. Even those of us who are too opposed to being talionic will have to admit that it's sometimes human nature to act that way, ehe. I respect your view regarding parody pages, I suppose I (and many others) might not know how it feels, seeing as we haven't been victim to it, so to speak, although having experienced quite a bit of in-game trolling, I can see how it can be offensive. I once also was part of a small group that had a free-for-all play style, and we never really grew past 5 members. Some other things occurred that didn't allow for us to thrive as a group, and I am sure that those who have first-hand experience with old free-for-all groups have been jaded by their failures. In the end, we are all people who play a game, people who deserve respect.
- Though, I admit I have to agree with Kirsty cotton; if this was allowed to subside instead of fuel being added to the fire, it would not have been catalyzed as terribly. --! 09:13, 14 September 2013 (BST)
- Since you foolishly didn't pick me to arbitrate, I feel like there is some advice that might serve you well in the future: calm down. Seriously, you could have popped some "lulz" on a parody talk page and this would have died on its own. This is how trolling works: 1. someone picks you to make fun off/kill/etc. 2. you either a. ignore/thank/laugh-with them and they quit b. flip out and it get worse. It's like a Chinese finger trap, the harder you pull, the tighter it gets. This advice isn't going to help much with your current problem, but maybe you can avoid it in the future. --K 22:45, 13 September 2013 (BST)

Damn, CyberOpposition's userpage.
I thought I loved Ayu's a lot, but that other userpage. Hnn. Now all you need to do is make your userpage for this user look amazing, and I'll cry over how ugly my own userpages are. --! 09:13, 14 September 2013 (BST)

- Oh wow, I somehow was under the impression that you were slightly older than that. But ehe, I can relate to that feeling, I've done some really... ill-judged things at 14 years old, even in this wiki. You can always come back to it another day, maybe make a new page layout. It's never too late for that. --! 09:29, 14 September 2013 (BST)
- Oooh yeah Haha, I was the pker kid trying to fit in with the crimson clan, always giving them shit and causing trouble. d: they still kept me around without handing me a permaban - for sooome reason. Now I'm perusing industrial design, wanted to come back here to get some steady photomanipulation, Sig requests and whatnot. You want a layout? H4ppy 24 7 09:36, 14 September 2013 (BST)
- Industrial design? Noice. I once considered going into a career related to it, but I found out that it was more of a hobby of mine than something I'd like as a career. You probably weren't that much of a problem compared to others of your era (Cornhoolio? Izumi? idek anymore) if they didn't ban you, then. Heh, I could probably use a layout for a character page, but skhdk; idek. --! 15:30, 14 September 2013 (BST)

- those guys caused problems after I quit I believe. But yeah, the design industry is extremely competitive. A lot of people drop it as a career choice because of ego related dilemmas regarding their art. Companies want artists to bleed for their product, their logo, their image and their ideas. Of course, artists with a healthy ego in relation to their art usually see this as a threat to their "creative genius", disregarding the design industry as a way of life. Artists that lack ego for their art usually can't see the passion in the reds they paint or how their lines move after they've lifted their pencil from the page. It's a hard line to walk or draw d: H4ppy 24 7 19:58, 14 September 2013 (BST)
