20070624 Field surgery (requires power)

DrBowman 14:50, 24 June 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Skill

Suggestion scope
Medics and doctors

Suggestion description
This is pretty basic. Another skill, after surgery, can be purchased in the "First Aid" skills tree, but you have to buy Surgery first. Basically, you can use a FAK to heal 15 HP in any powered building. This would be useful for setting up field hospitals and the like. Not only would this provide an incentive for people to buy surgery (let's face it; staying in a hospital is no fun), but also would make medics and doctors more valuable.

  1. Workable - This needs some justification or balancing. For example, the scientist may need to find field tools first. Also, it doesn't make sense he should be able to heal as much on the road as in a hospital. Perhaps make the HP restored in a hospital go up to 20? Anyway, everybody else is going to kill/spam the hell out of your suggestion, so take it to Talk:Suggestions and work on it there. --Magentaine 15:39, 24 June 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - makes placing gennies in hospitals useless, especially if mall is nearby and searching for FAKs isn't a problem. --KiT 12:06, 25 June 2007 (BST) . (sorry, forgot to sign it when i was writing it yesterday.
  3. Change - Make the HP healed go up to 20 in a hospital, and make it only some powered buildings (Forts, Schools, manors, churches, cathedrals, PD's, and Fire Sations), because not ALL of them would have medical equipment (i doubt am Auto Repair or a Mall would have any medical equipment with them). --Bruce Torbaron 16:47, 24 June 2007 (BST)
  4. Doable - In this state, the suggestion as mister M said, would most likely be killed. Though it could be possible to get this to a workable point, I think the HP healed is a bit too high. And Bruce, all places have medical equipment, in case of a disaster. The problem is the kinds of equipment. Malls have basic things like FAKs, but all the malls I've ever been to also carry there own defibrillation units.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 17:51, 24 June 2007 (BST)
  5. Possible That's a point. THere's a defibulator, streacher and such at the train station.--Seventythree 19:46, 24 June 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - The reason why Surgery works in a powered hospital is because hospitals are equipped for dealing with injury. I doubt that there will be a complete hospital equipment cabinent in an office building. --User:Axe27/Sig 20:17, 24 June 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - I liked the previous field surgery better. No one else did, tho. ~m T! 01:39, 25 June 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - Hospitals are places of healing... people know to go there for healing. This suggestion makes any safehouse into a hospital... way overpowering close to malls. And I won't be voting to increase the healing power of surgery to 20 HP either on any future revisions -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 08:07, 25 June 2007 (BST)
  9. Plausible - If this is going to be implemented, then the amount of health healed in hospitals has to go up, either that or the field surgery has to have a certain drawback, maybe something like heal 12 health?EchelonThree 13:29, 25 June 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill - I think 15 HP is a bit too much, and that the ability should be restricted to buildings that would already have some kind of first aid capability (fire stations, police departments, schools, etc.). --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 16:33, 25 June 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill Cool, I'll be performing surgery in the auto repair shop. --Secruss 18:38, 25 June 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill - I like the idea of a field surgery skill but, healing somebody 15 HP in any powered building is too much. --Sonofagun18 19:08, 25 June 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill - Junkyard + Surgery = Infection. --Uncle Bill 02:29, 26 June 2007 (BST)
  14. Kill - as Axe27 and Uncle Bill -- Vista  +1  20:29, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  15. Kill - This will never work. Why? Take a look at all the comments above mine. armareum 15:08, 30 June 2007 (BST)
  16. Kill - Woah! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:57, 4 July 2007 (BST)
  17. Kill I think that the only addition to the current Surgery skill should be for it to work in infirmaries. --Leon Vulcan 18:52, 6 July 2007 (BST)
