User Page Rules
Inspired by (copying) Vista and badgered by SuicidalAngel, my Userpage is now free for community editing. Basically I'm going to let you do all the hard work of making it look nice (or not so nice). Try not to delete any of my original content (see original page here), but feel free to go crazy with the formatting and colour schemes, etc. Bonus points for adding stuff that makes me laugh.
I will make a template to give to anyone who gives a *positive* contribution to my User Page.
Talk Page Rules
Just added a new section at the top, level 2 header (==Title==).
I'll be fair, friendly, and I won't censor you (unless you're a vandal). However I might occasionally fix a typo - sometimes I just need to.

Speaking Freely
Thanks... It was late, i had just finished a bottle of wine and I couldn't resist! Hope he thinks its funny too, if not then I am sure Grim will defend my right of free speech ;) --Honestmistake 11:10, 27 September 2007 (BST)
Powered ruins suggestions
You know, the rules says you can only make ONE suggestion per day. Beyond that being vandalism and the suggestion removed. I'll let this one pass, seeing that we don't have the same ammount of suggestions that it used to have when this rule was created. But let this be a warning, do NOT abuse this freedom the administration staff is just giving you. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 17:12, 25 September 2007 (BST)
- and then i find the line that say you can revise a removed suggestion once per day. You goota love this wiki rules backholes, 'aight ? You are officially in the clear. Move along people, there is nothing to see here. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 17:15, 25 September 2007 (BST)
- Yeah, I checked before I went ahead as I knew about the one-suggestion-per-day rule. You know, you might not like me (it can't just be the 'sysop abuse' comment you came here about last, can it?) - but you don't have to assume I run around in blind naive good faith, fucking up the wiki and needing additional freedom from sysops. 'arm. 17:33, 25 September 2007 (BST)
- huh, that ? was that you ? i didnt even remembered that :P I have a really short memory span for trivial stuff, and i totally forgot about that :P I am lucky to have people with better memory than myself to remind me of this kind of stuff, though. And, beyond this thing you just remind me, i have no quarrels with you, good sir knight :P
- Anyway... no, my comments were made completly to favor you and your suggestion, since another user could easily pop in and start calling you a vandal for something as trivial as making a suggestion. In my opinion, making or revising an honest suggestion should NEVER be considered vandalism, and this rule should only be used to prevent abuse :P But if you'd rather ask me to mind my own business than try to help you out, hey, good going ass-hat. Now i have two things against you, that might stick in my mind for a little longer. Next time i'll just let you fuck yourself. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 21:26, 25 September 2007 (BST)
- Hmmm, maybe it's because English is not your first language, but you *did* initially give me a warning not to abuse sysop leniency. To me, this means you expect that I *would* abuse this leniency - which gives me the impression that you have a low opinion of me. Hence the "you might not like me, but you don't have to think that I'm an idiot" comment. There was possibly a translation error/communication barrier in our last correspondence too, if you are saying that it was trivial stuff. 'arm. 03:12, 26 September 2007 (BST)

- Ooh, burn! Well, I don't care much for grudges - so regardless of whether you are holding any, I'm just going to put any previous problems down to a "translation error/communication barrier" on whoever's side, and let bygones be bygones. 'arm. 14:07, 26 September 2007 (BST)

Data for Search Odds
Ok, some problems. (1) I assume "Search" is unlit and "Search (+)" is for lit buildings? (2) You don't have list of all items possibly found in locations, it might be that you just didn't find them and that you didn't save data. but for search odds it's better to know was it nothing or some item. (so with your comment that you don't record newspapers and books there's no sense to take data for those buildings to the search odds)
i processed so far Factory, Mall (Gun Store), (Hardware Store), PD (all from search (+)), but there are still concerns stated above. --~~~~ [talk] 18:00, 20 September 2007 (BST)
- In Hardware Store did you not filed wirecutters or not found any? Ditto about radios in PD, DNA Ext's and GPS in NT --~~~~ [talk] 19:39, 24 September 2007 (BST)
- In fact it might be used for overall percentages for that exact item, but it cannot be added directly to tables. You might have really not found any radios, especially in unlit buildings. No wirecutters in 102 lit hardware store searches? well... i'll leave it added for now, but might also discard. I've added info for unlit PD (assuming you didn't find radios) and Auto Repair (assuming 2 fuel cans in 7 searches is lucky enough so there barely could be other items found). Looks like that is all "marked red" data that could be added to the moment.
- Anyway, more important at this time info would be for ransacked/ruined locations, so i'm looking forward to see another tab sometime --~~~~ [talk] 20:08, 24 September 2007 (BST)
Barfspamlives
Hey, this is Barfspamlives.. I did answer some of the questions on the discussion page of the wiki.. just haven't gotten to yours yet. Currently we don't have a forum... I access from work and those sites are usually blocked.. However, since I checked your ID.. I'm not sure I would tell you if we had a forum or not since it looks like your mostly a zed character out to disrupt what we strive to succeed upon.. retaking malls.. that's just my observation though... and how you pretty much describe your characters.. Zombie Skills
Sorry, I should have put something in the comment or the talk page. The data that I removed was bite attack data for the skill set Vigour Mortis, Death Grip and Rend Flesh. For a bite, the attack would be just the same as for V.M. on it's own, and the table had some random number. I'd just done some research on the Tangling Grasp probabilites (for the Unarmed Attacks page, and found that this wasn't a real attack at all. It looked like it was trying to use Tanglinsg Grasp calculations on a skill set without Tangling Grasp. Sorry again for the mixup. --xensyriaT 15:34, 17 September 2007 (BST)
- Yeah - no probs - that table's some good work!

ransacked NT and generators
Your vote seems to be a keep as the changes you ask for are exactly what the author is asking for. Nowhere does it seem to say you can't put down a generator just that you should not get to use NT special functions while the building is ransacked. Think its dead in the water anyway and the author is an arse but still....--Honestmistake 10:02, 8 June 2007 (BST)
- Re: Well, not only did you not give the author much time to reply, you are wrong. His words are "Currently you can setup a generator in a ransacked building ... and it should not be allowed as it neither makes logical sense nor abides by the spirit of the ransack skill". His choice of phrase means that he is objecting to being able to setup a generator in a ransacked building. That is also the scope he gives for the suggestion (Generators in Ransacked buildings). armareum 10:16, 8 June 2007 (BST)
- OK my bad, but the point is that its the syringe manufacture and rotter revives that he is trying to stop rather than use of generators per say. If those abilities were yaken away then placing the generator is a moot point as i very much doubt anyone ever would! --Honestmistake 13:28, 8 June 2007 (BST)

Suburb Redirections
do you think they are really needed ? i think people will disagree a lot with them. Like, RB could stand either for Ruddlebank and Ridleybank, and RW could stand as Roywood and Roftwood. In both these cases you have choosen the less known suburbs to be redirected by their acronyms. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 20:11, 24 June 2007 (BST)
- No, they aren't really needed, strictly speaking. But I visit the suburb pages of those suburbs often, and within the UD group I operate we refer to those suburbs by two-letter acronyms. It occurred to me that there might be some conflict later on, but then that's what a disambiguation page is for.
Hopefully I won't get too many objections - it's not as if those pages are being used at the moment by anything else.
Instead of relying on a disambiguation page, how about "RudB" and "RidB" for Ruddlebank and Ridleybank, and "RoyW" and "RofW" for Roywood and Roftwood. Most suburbs will be able to be shortened without problems. But for that will conflict, as slightly longer acronym will suffice. armareum 20:21, 24 June 2007 (BST)- actually, if your group is the only using these redirections, i dont think there will be a problem with them. If anyone else ever thought about using them, then they would have been already created. Like in Militant Order of Barhah vs. The Malton Mob, you were the one that created the redirects first and then you have prior rights to it. Unless more people start using this redirections, then we will have to change it somehow. For now, its ok the way it is. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 20:51, 24 June 2007 (BST)
- as you can see, I've changed some of it already. RB is now a disambiguation page, and I've added RudB and RidB as acronym redirections. I'll do the same for the others you pointed out later, and I'll keep on top of other conflicts as we come across them. Thanks for voicing your concern - best to get these things out of the way early on. armareum 21:11, 24 June 2007 (BST)
Suggestion
There's no need for that really. Kevan uses the system to check and modify his own ideas for possible abuses. Having a popular idea with the potential abuses pointed out might almost be as good as a version were they're all solved. You could point out some solutions in a re to me or just make a new suggestion about them. -I'd advice making a new suggestion out of your solutions... that way you'd have two in peer :) -- Vista +1 18:51, 3 July 2007 (BST) ps, thanks for appreciating my criticism. Joining Extinction/ Alt Chars
Alright, so I have an alt character that is a zombie, and I'd like to play from the zed side as well as the survivor. He's a level 2 and I was wondering if I could join? I also just want to get this out of the way, I do not spy. I know I'm fighting for Caiger Mall as well, but I want the game to be fair (notice I support the fair tactics, I have the template to prove it hehe). It's Molly Milnktoast, and there is a link to the profile on my wiki. Let me know what I can do... Thanks --Big Bur 03:27, 17 July 2007 (BST)
- Alright, it's understandable that you'd be apprehensive, considering the fact that you don't really know anything about me. Basically though, I think playing only as a survivor would essentially leave half of the game unplayed. What I was aiming to do, was join an up and coming zombie group and therefore, I'd have a goal to work for. Whereas working with LUE would just be, well, LUE. I'd join and I'd stumble around, the end. Do you know what I mean? I don't know if I'm explaining my intentions well.--Big Bur 05:57, 17 July 2007 (BST)
- Okay, good deal. Sorry about accusing you of being apprehensive, it just sounded like you were because of the tiny speech you gave on being a spy. That's true though, what's the point of playing both sides of a chess game. I can go everywhere besides Caiger, which leaves many a possibility open. I joined the forum. The 20 GMT thing might not work out for me though because I have to work. We'll see.--Big Bur 10:11, 18 July 2007 (BST)

- Actually users are allowed to delete POV news and such, although you could always settle edit disputes in Arbitration, I believe that is exactly what that place was made for. --Karekmaps?! 19:25, 22 July 2007 (BST)
More to the question, would you like to be one?-- Vista +1 16:42, 24 July 2007 (BST)
- Two months active is the minimum. you've got around 1500 edits I guess, which is on the lower end but enough. You've been assuming the sort of duties on the suggestions page simular to what a sysop normally does for the wiki as a whole. So it's easier to see how you would do. the duties are all voluntary but there is little need to give you sysop powers if you're not going to use them at all of course.
- (striking trolling votes, vandal banning, the deletion of pages, the powers to edit protected pages and to moving them, those sort of things)
I've got the flue. If you don't mind I'll wait a day or two with nominating you. It won't hurt either seeing that Boxy already nominated somebody. Sorry.-- Vista +1 15:44, 3 August 2007 (BST)
- Actually, I think you should just nominate yourself when you feel like it. Some people voting on swiers bid seem to think it's close to nepotism if you're nominated by a sysop. I'm still willing to nominate you if you'd like though, just give me a ping when you're ready.-- Vista +1 16:50, 6 August 2007 (BST)
- The quality of nominated candidates tend to be more consistent as well. A nominated candidates definitely have to have a track record to draw attention to himself. While a lot of unsuited candidates put their own name up and tried to get promoted out of pure self promotion. I haste to add that a lot of good sysops have stepped forward themselves as well though. Dux Ducis for example. so asking for sysop status for yourself certainly isn't a disqualifier. (I did as well, twice in fact.)-- Vista +1 21:34, 6 August 2007 (BST)
Extinction/Danger Reports
I was reading some of the wiki entries for the NW corner of Malton because I knew Extinction was operating out of there. The reports for places like Roywood and Quarlesbank make it sound like the suburbs were completely devastated, but I don't remember the suburbs turning red to match that. So did I just miss when it happened or is there a reason the suburbs aren't being considered Very Dangerous when you guys are in town?--Insomniac By Choice 21:39, 25 July 2007 (BST)
- Thank you thank you thank you--Insomniac By Choice 16:39, 6 August 2007 (BST)
My Suggestion
I have re-thought it and I put in some new requirements. Please look at it again.Chill 22:29, 26 July 2007 (BST)
Good Evening
I do believe that you and your friends would be interested in this policy. If we have a way of encouraging the sysops to behave better, then we can show the rest of the wiki how they should behave. --Akule School's in session. 23:42, 12 September 2007 (BST)
