Pope Symmachus was the Pope of the Holy Roman Catholic Church between the years of 498 and 514 AD. He was born a pagan but converted to Catholicism as a young adult. He was later baptized in Rome where he became an Archdeacon and eventually Pope. He was praised for providing aid in the form of currency and clothing to missionaries
St. Symmachus's Church is a small, and non imposing church located in the south of Whittenside. Located next door to the local comedy club and dive bar, Club Hucker, the church attracted many of Malton's riff-raff in the Whittenside suburb. This church is dwarfed by it's neighbor St. Cunigunde's Church, and even before the outbreak it constantly sported broken windows, peeling paint, and broken shutters.
