NPOVThe Abandoned are a survivor group based in and around the suburbs of Yagoton and Millen Hills. The team originated from a popular abandonware website known as Abandonia. One of their predominant goals is to keep the Yagoton Revivification Clinic safe. The group is currently helping out at the clinic and maintaining the defense of both suburbs, among other things instituting a barricade plan for both Yagoton and Millen Hills. Non-NPOV statementThe Abandoned are, by a MotA horseman's words, "a tougher fight than most". The Abandoned do not believe in direct orders, they use guidelines and rules to guide their members' conduct. The Abandoned does not approve of PKing, and its members are encouraged to do community tasks rather then hunt PKers. The Abandoned does not believe in the 'big' Urban Dead politics, which mainly consists of making accusations and people using templates as shields against them. We try to stay out of them... although after all these months, we seem to have failed. We have made enemies, the greatest of which are our arch rivals, the Neon Knights. Our rivalry goes so far back it has for our part almost become a form of friendship, and we have respect for most of them (although we'll still take them down whenever we get the chance). Any other enemy is no more then a minor nuisance. We don't try to turn them from the game, everyone has a right to play as they see fit as long as they don't ruin the game for others. We'll fight them when and if we feel like it. (This is very old and the Knights are now longer around, we're thinking about something new to put here)--Rohndogg1 22:48, 19 June 2010 (BST) Allies
Radio Frequency:
The Abandoned run an official radio frequency at 26.61 MHz. In addition to this, the group maintains the power and barricades of Yagoton's mobile phone mast at the Workman Towers. Group Activity:This section is a basic journal where we record important events so that you may view them in a "Journal-like" way. The Abandoned are proud to be part of one of the most ancient groups of Malton. As such, this journal goes back only up to about one year in the past. The archives can be found here should you like to peruse old entries. ---2020---A few members still breathe and fly the flag. The city has become very quiet and little remains of the threats that once faced Yagoton. Those still around continue to do what they can to provide a safe place for survivors, though many are capable on their own. -- Rohndogg1 Talk | TA 23:15, 31 August 2020 (UTC) ---2014---17 March 2014It seems that there is a new band of ruffians in town. This would be unimportant, but one of them is masquerading as a member. Doctor Healzor: http://www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=1773361 is not a member and so we take no responsibility for his actions. We will likely be shooting him if we see him and encourage everyone else to do the same. -- Rohndogg1 Talk | TA 12:45, 17 March 2014 (UTC) ---2013---5 September 2013The Big Bash came through and brought a little fun and excitement to the area for a bit. Clean up went pretty quick as we were already in the process throughout their stay. Yagoton is again a great place to live barring a few occasional PKers. We're still doing well but would love to have some more people around both within and outside of the group to help keep things fun. -- Rohndogg1 Talk | TA 23:12, 5 September 2013 (BST) 12 June 2013Made some updates to the wiki and my own page. The current state of the group is now more accurately reflected. As for Yagoton. The RRF have begun to make their presence in the suburb known. Whatmore was attacked, but currently remains in survivor hands. It is unknown how long until they start pressing harder. We will continue to do what we can for Yagoton. -- Rohndogg1 Talk | TA 18:39, 12 June 2013 (BST) As a side note, it is always hilarious to be accused to be a zombie spy by one of the most active pro zombie group in yagoton when they PK you. :D -- •Eagle of Fire• •[Talk]• 00:07, 13 June 2013 (BST)16 January 2013Some very persistent and notorious PKers exist in Yagoton. Quite recently (or maybe it is simply because they didn't bother to mention it to me personally before), those PKers kill us randomly like they always used to do (what's new?) but also try to spread propaganda to whomever is willing to listen that The Abandoned is a PKer group and that we are targeting them personally. As always when people try to use propaganda, only a small portion of this is true. The Abandoned is not a PKer group by any means. We are an enlarged pro-survivor group who decided to band together a long time ago to pick a place to defend and call home. We have been defending Yagoton ever since and never faltered to do it. However, in the first few months of our group creation, several very big problems and challenges presented themselves and our roughly 50 to 60 members strong group back then decided democratically what would be the best course of action to follow to achieve our goal. Many very important decisions have been taken that year and we have been upholding them ever since, to a very high degree of success according to our goals might I even add. One of those "hidden" policies specifically targeted PKers. This type of player is a nuisance in itself and always target people randomly, would it be real survivor threats like zombies or spies or pro-survivor players who are doing their job to keep the suburb up and running. Most of those PKers also destroy essential pieces of equipment for fun like generators in resource buildings, sometimes also radio receivers... In short, they are chaotic and destructive to normal pro-survivor groups just as well as any other kind of groups. When we had to decide what to do with them, only two choices boiled down in the final list: do nothing and hope they don't bother us or target them specifically and never let go our attention on them so it is reversed and that they hope we stop bothering them. And since we are and always been a group of action and that our primary goal is to protect and preserve the suburb, the former was simply not acceptable. Following this, the creation of The Abandoned master PKer list was brought up. This list is very simple: if we have no proof, we do nothing. If we see you doing something bad, then we add you to the list directly. If someone reports you have done something bad, then we investigate. And if we see you somewhere in the suburb limit and you are on the master list? You get shot at on sight. That is how we treat and have always treated the PKers in our suburb... And this method has worked extremely well since it was implemented. Most of the PKers noticed our method and simply moved away to greener pastures and thus our goal was met. And we still hunt down PKers which are on our list on sight when they pass by the suburb. As far as I am concerned, and bringing heavy experience from other MMO games I personally played in the past; this policy could be better described as an Anti-PKer policy. Meaning that we are not PKers, but hunt down PKers. Simple. So you can understand my amusement when PKers kill me and then they add to their act by accusing me of being a PKer myself. No, my dear, dastardly, fiend. I am not a PKer, I am an Anti-PKer. What is the difference, you ask? Well, I only kill you if you kill me, for starters. However, the real difference between a PKer and me is that if there would be no PKer, you would not be able to see me hunting down survivors. Ever. Because I would not need to hunt you. Once again, The Abandoned would like to give a big thank you for all the suburb pro-survivors who, as always, easily see thru the deception of those notorious clowns. :) -- •Eagle of Fire• •[Talk]• 18:44, 16 January 2013 (UTC)---2012---12 October 2012Some minor action (other than PKer activities) finally in Yagoton: the RRF seem to be in town. What they are doing here we might never know, but this situation surprise us by the slow but steady emergence of a new survivor group in the suburb, calling themselves The Smiths. Very little is known about them so far except for some minor scraps and sporadic exchange of information between our two groups. We would like to officially welcome The Smiths to the suburb as well as welcome them to start up official and more standard communication with us by starting up a group page so we can at least communicate thru the discussion pages. -- •Eagle of Fire• •[Talk]• 21:33, 12 October 2012 (BST)7 March 2012The traitor Eric Wolton, a very old mad man who once tried to fool us in May 2006 by trying to join our group, has now returned from the grave. True to his crazy self he currently roam Yagoton bent on a PKer rampage, trying at the same time to give us a bad name by impersonating us using our group tag while committing text rape. Yagoton residents encountering this fellow would be well advised to stay clear from his path, refrain from rezing him from the dead and report his whereabouts ASAP so we might deal and dispatch him just like we do any other PKer or crazy cultist in our lovely suburb. If you ever fall victim to his socially deficient behavior we recommend that you report him to the proper authorities so his case can be dealt with swiftly and efficiently. -- •Eagle of Fire• •[Talk]• 17:14, 7 March 2012 (UTC)---2011---17 November 2011Flowers of Decay corpses continue to litter the streets as various members, growing butthurt by their failing attempts to dent Abandoned morale, turn to spreading false threats of destruction via bounty hunter group, a group that doesn't exist, and a survivor group (lol wut) as well as farting. Thoroughly enjoying this latest incursion into the motherland by flotsam (read: useless or unimportant items)-eating pirates, Abandoned member Macampos said, "Actually, fighting these guys is pretty fucking fun, but Jenko and Swoop keep getting all the kills." The rest of the Abandoned held a similar sentiment, although some felt that their new friends were a little sub-par. "Pking used to be about display, with the pker and company putting on a show before they put the bullet in the skull," member Jenko said, as he dumped his umpteenth FoD member out a window, "Now, all they do is spout cheesy one liners and call us names!" Nevertheless, the Abandoned would like to thank the zombies currently munching on Bale Mall as well as the recent plethora of pkers pervading Yagoton for at least trying to make our lives more enjoyable. "See, if these guns aren't used, they just sort of pile up and make a mess of the place," Macampos said, loading a shotgun shell and tossing it into a bag of over 9000 more, "the FoD may suck at what they do, but at least they'll die knowing they're actively contributing to the greater good of the Abandoned, the YRC, and the suburb as a whole." --Private Mark 20:30, 17 November 2011 (UTC) 15 November 2011Although the majority of the reddit_survivors impersonators, who have been outed as members of the Dead, have fled the suburb, Yagoton is currently under attack by a yet unknown group of zombies, aided in no small part by the Flowers of Decay- who, in turn, are being killed wholesale by our members. Yagonites should be aware that these delicate, if wilted flowers are not to be trusted, as they will surely stab you in the back right after you prick them. --Private Mark 20:00, 15 November 2011 (UTC) 26 October 2011Recently, a group of people masquerading as members of reddit_survivors made a PKing attack on Bale Mall. Just before this they issued a statement claiming they were going to take over the suburb of Yagoton. The mall was fairly quickly cleaned and we are on watch for these miscreants. Will update with relative information as it becomes pertinent to do so. -Rohndogg1 15:23, 26 October 2011 (BST) 28 September 2011It has come to my attention that YRUER Has begun masquerading as one of our members. He is NOT nor will he ever be one of our members and has in fact, killed members of our ranks. If you see him, feel free to shoot him in the face. -Rohndogg1 22:53, 28 September 2011 (BST) 14 March 2011Happy 2011! The Abandoned Page v2.0 is at Beta, thanks to some new recruits. More changes to come within the month. --Private Mark 08:15, 14 March 2011 (UTC) ---2010---5 September 2010Been a long time since the last news post. There hasn't been much to say and RL issues come into play as well. The only thing to say right now is that Yagoton is almost completely back on its feet after the attack by the Big Bash and the zombies that followed after it. Many TRPs have been reclaimed and revives are going out at a decent rate. --Rohndogg1 15:38, 5 September 2010 (BST) 05 May 2010Happy Cinco de Mayo from the Abandoned! With the coming of summer, survivor and member ranks have bolstered and our list will be updated accordingly. Yagoton has proven to be rather peaceful as of late, a rarity for a normally red-hot red suburb such as ours, but we remain vigilant; knowing our reputation, "trouble" is just around the corner... --Private Mark 08:01, 5 May 2010 (BST) 25 March 2010Today's news is good news. Bale Mall is standing and in our hands once again. Though there are zombies in the area and the threat is by no means gone, we plan to hold onto the area to the best of our ability. --Rohndogg1 02:46, 26 March 2010 (UTC) 18 March 2010Looks like it's once a fortnight, hard enough to remember. Bale Mall has been hit and went down after a struggle lasting a few days. It has shifted hands a few times, but currently rests in the hands of the zombie horde. A few other buildings have fallen and the Style Building has been breached. We're doing our best to hold the area. Though the North is facing trouble, southern Yagoton is doing relatively well and revives are still moving out at a decent rate in the suburb. --Rohndogg1 01:29, 19 March 2010 (UTC) 8 March 2010Leadership of Alpha Cell has officially changed. I, Rohndogg1, have stepped down from leading Alpha Cell to better manage the group as a whole. liquidicon, a former member of Charlie Cell has been elected as the new leader. I wish to congratulate liquidicon and wish him the best in his new role. Hopefully I'll remember to update the news more often from now on. I'll attempt to post weekly, or at least once a fortnight. Until next time. --Rohndogg1 17:49, 8 March 2010 (UTC) 15 January 2010Bale was officially recaptured yesterday. It is currently surviving and we are going to do our best to maintain it. The Style Building has been holding for roughly two weeks thanks to the joint efforts of ourselves and some of the great people in our suburb. We continue to hold out against the zombies despite the continued PKings by Chocolate Thunder. That was your first news post for 2010. Keep surviving out there people. --Rohndogg1 16:36, 15 January 2010 (UTC) |
