Gang War

It's Jimmy from The Thugs of Malton. We recently relocated our group and inadvertently started (what promises to be) a shitstorm of a gang war with a local survivor group. I'm letting all our allies know so they can join in if they want. Should be a good time. I just registered for your forum, or you can email me at thugsofmalton.urbandead@gmail.com if you're interested in throwing down with us and trashing some survivors. --Crazy Jimbo 19:57, 15 June 2010 (BST)

Jimbo... thanks for getting in contact with us... I'll approve your registration on our forums immediatly. Please do tell of your recent endeavours on the Ally Board.... Sorry for the belated response.... I've been on hiatus. -Poodle of DoomM! Fear is only as deep as the mind will allow it be.T 03:16, 18 June 2010 (BST)

Clarification Needed

Our group page received the following request yesterday:

EVIL has an invested interest in seeing Greentown cleaned up. Could you help in the matter? -Poodle of DoomM! Fear is only as deep as the mind will allow it be.T 05:28, 28 June 2010 (BST)

There are two subjective terms in this statement, the meaning of which I will need you to clarify before I take this to my group and discuss it: “cleaned up” and “help”. While I respect your ideological imperative to champion the cause of the underdog (as laid out on your group page), it is clear that on certain issues we will not see eye to eye. This does not prevent us from working together when our goals are compatible. I require clarification of your request so that I may discern your motives and ascertain what you think our relatively small group can do to help you attain your goals. I am happy to continue this conversation with you on our talk page or in our forum should you prefer.

I would add in an aside to your leader, in researching your character, I was impressed by the way you handled yourself in arbitration and found little if anything in your conduct for which I can fault you. Rest assured, that even should we end up on opposite sides of a conflict (as happened briefly though impersonally in Escape), you have my respect for some of the work you are doing.

Yours in science,

Well, to be completly honest with you, you can see that Greentown is currently a red state,... but to make matters worse, it is a red state in a sea of red. I would like to establish a survivor stronghold in this area, and perhaps use Greentown as a jumping off point to help take back the SW area of Malton. The help that I am in need of is syringes, barricades, and the like. NT Buildings in the neighboring communities are far from the area, and it would take a lot of dedicated AP from both groups to make such an effort happen. And what may I ask is it that you are impressed by? -Poodle of DoomM! Fear is only as deep as the mind will allow it be.T 22:41, 28 June 2010 (BST)
In reference to your question, the incidents to which I was referring are 1stly the way that you continued to argue in a straightforward way during your arbitration with Cornholio. For someone who describes themselves upon occasion as a griefer, this was especially admirable. I have seen things with this user get much more bitter and irrational on other areas of the wiki. While your dispute did seem to be quite adversarial, it was addressed appropriately with level argumentation tinged with only a small number of expletives. Beyond this, I was referring to your speeches regarding the UD community posted on your user page and elsewhere. While I would not have addressed things in quite the same way, the fact that you are more passionate about improving the community and the game than achieving a personal or strategic victory is something that I respect when I see it. I could go on a bit longer but I wish instead to cut to the chase and address the help you have requested. As you may have noticed, our primary base of operations is Whittenside, which is some great distance from Greentown. While this does not prevent us from assisting, it means that moving all of us into this area is not within the realm of possibility. Add to this the fact that we are being Heathered at the moment, that Whittenside has been turned into something of a hellhole as a result, and that we have a prior commitment to our allies the Wulves that needs to be fulfilled and the difficulty of aiding in a suburb so remote is compounded. We have a light presence in Arkham (which is closer) and I have connections with The Damn Yankees who are primarily centered in Dulston but have a person or two in that area. I can see who I can gather to assist. First however there is a question I must ask: I have come to understand that there may be some bad blood between EVIL and the Wulves. As the latter have been very valuable allies in past, I would appreciate it if you could help me understand the conflict as you see it?

Thank you for elaborating on what you found admirable. I'm rather appreciative of that level of complement. As for bad blood, I wouldn't descibe it as that. I'd describe it as a communicative break down, leading to a disinterest in working togethor in the fashion being discussed at the time. As you no doubt have noticed, EVIL tends to play both the part of the underdog, and the champion. We were looking to further our role as champion by defending the Fort. I'm sure you're aware of much of this story by now. The particular individual that I was in contact with was very sparatic in his communications,... and there were many gaps, none of which were readily filled in, in a timely manner. Many things, crucial to the operation, were made to public to fast, and were cause for alarm, considering what we were trying to do. I personally got fed up of what I considered a lack of communication at times, and inability to make decisions, and help take part in the process at hand. I'm sure I hastily fired off at the time, though in my arrogance, would say I was right to draw attention to the issue. I'd be willing to provide the parts of the conversations I have access to, in the proper order, to help put everything in context if need be. I guarentee it wouldn't be an issue in the future, as long as we're going through you. You seem to be more on the ball than the gentlman in question in the aforementioned discussion. - Poodle of Doom 04:24, 5 July 2010 (BST)
I will present this to my team and to the Yankees and see what they say.
