Lesson #36 deserves a bit more detail. Not only does it represent my graduation to the level of Philosophe within my order, it is also a spirited defense of the Knights' Artifact Policy in the face of an incursion by an otherwise good group. Here is the entire message I delivered to The Malton Zookeepers this morning: # Attention Malton Zookeepers. I am Seekandyeshallfind of the Philosophe Knights. I have long admired the work of your group. # However, we have learned your group has embarked on a "Zookeeper's Trinket Tour 2013" for the purpose of "fun and debauchery." This will not do. # The Philosophe Knights demand that The Malton Zookeepers abandon this tour, by order of the Artifact Protection Policy. # Our Artifact Protection Policy prohibits the looting of museums and protects Malton's cultural and educational values. # Aligning with this policy in no way aligns you with the PK. Flouting the policy with this tour puts you in direct conflict with the Knights’ mission. # Objets d'art are not 'trinkets' - they are among our last, great threads to our cultural history prior to the outbreak. # These treasures must remain in Centers of Learning under the care of studious curators. # Just as the zookeepers safeguard the animals in the Malton Zoo, you should do no harm to the contents of Centers of Learning. # To punctuate, I will now educate your leader, Angry Parakeet. Death is not permanent in Malton, but it is memorable. # So long as the tour ends here and now, here endeth the lesson. Good day to you all.
Those who have understood the lesson1. My #7 kill -- Ovastug Taunt Kill -- now has this personal description: "Just a humble zombie drifter. My clothes smells like blood and urine. could you gimme some meat??" I'm not 100% sure that's an improvement, but baby steps, people. BABY STEPS! 2. My #9 kill -- bvrasp LessonKill -- added the following personal description to read: "You see what appears to be a Sivak Draconian, with silver scaled flesh, deep silver eyes, a forked tonuge, and a reptilian tail. You assume this transformation occured on goblinization day, but he might also be from a different world." Much better! Suddenly you seem so much smarter! 3. My #14 Kill: Caroline Debry – Lesson, has changed her description to read: “A woman in her early forties. Her brown hair is dirty, from the lack of available water to bathe with, but immaculately combed. A museum curator before the quarantine.” Praise be to you Caroline! Part of the war against ignorance in Malton! I, Seekandyeshallfind of the Philosophe Knights, Salute you! Praise Knowledge!"
4. My #18 Kill: Toomatin Zabrakovic changed his profile to read... "Sick of the quarantine. Also sick of being judged for not writing enough here, by selfrighteous people who mostly write nonsense themselves. I value silence, but when I speak, I speak the truth." HA! That's fantastic! 5. My #24 kill -- meatwadd -- Lecture -- Education -- didn't EXACTLY understand the lesson, but at least is no longer nondescript. His profile now reads, "Seekandyeshallfind is an arse. Not a great fan of the Philosophe Knights either I'm afraid. Got PK'd for lack of character description and poor spelling of name. Not best pleased." HA! I'll allow it. He's got the first part right anyway. No question. 6. My #24 kill -- nada -- lecture 1 -- lecture 2 -- lesson recently found me and (I'm pretty sure, I wish I'd gotten the dang screen shot) killed me. His profile now reads, "Nada is wearing jeans, unusually dark sunglsses, and a blue plaid flannel shirt with an emtpy JuicyFruit wrapper safety-pinned to the pocket. His mullet is very dated." Yay! He also said, "Hey! You were supposed to say something cool in Latin!" which made me smile. I've really gotten away from that recently in my zeal to conform to the educational messages of the Philosophe Knights, but I'll work on that for you nada! 7. My #34 kill -- Nurse Fox -- went from being nondescript to "Hello, please tell me something about yourself..." I'm not sure that fully qualifies for assisting in Malton's enlightenment, but it's definitely a step in the right direction, as it promotes intellectual discussion and a sharing of the human condition. So on the list it goes. 8. My #31 kill -- Good Solder 2 -- went from impersonating the Philosophe Knights to being a member of some group called "DZ." I'll count it. 9. My number 37 kill -- Dulva -- Lesson -- Education - fixed the spelling error I pointed out for them.
10. My number 62 kill -- Rotten Ray -- Lesson 1 -- Lesson 2 -- Education – changed their profile to something far, far less trenchy.
11. My number 94 kill -- Dago Redd changed their profile from something less than erudite to “Silence speaks.” It’s definitely an improvement.
Repaired Centers of LearningAs a Philosophe Knight, I highly value all centers of learning, and make a point of repairing them whenever I find one in shabby condition.
Kill List, Activities and Awards with Red RumI went three months unaligned where I kept absolutely zero records. I found my Records, and added the most recent stuff. Gotta start getting iWitnesses of all things, dammit!
Mall TallyNot that I'm trying for this badge at the moment, just figured I'd keep a tally of those that qualify.
