Description

The Garson Towers are located at 04,14 in the suburb of Roywood. This tall building has a mobile phone mast rising up from the roof. When the building is powered, it enables mobile phone service to the suburb of Roywood. It is of modern steel construction with an outer wall of mirrored glass.

History

Before the outbreak, Garson Towers was the home of Channel 5 Malton, a television station devoted to news coverage and local affairs. Its president and CEO, Henry Garson, enjoyed a penthouse suite on the top floor. Channel 5 was quick to respond with reports of the outbreak when it began, due to their devoted attention to local coverage. Most of the staff were evacuated before the quarantine went into effect, but a skeleton crew stayed on to provide the denizens of Malton with coverage of the chaos.

The main power lines went down a few days into the outbreak, and employees were sent on dangerous runs to fetch generators and fuel to maintain power for their continued coverage of the horrific events happening throughout Malton. One by one, they went out for gas and were never heard from again. A horde of zombies laid siege to the towers after following one of the runners back from his errand and seeing the dazzling tower all lit up. The makeshift barricades did not hold for long; the zombies swarmed inside the building and devoured what remained of the Channel 5 staff, including Mr. Henry Garson himself.

After months of neglect, MalTel began work converting the old news station into a mobile phone communications hub. They converted an old TV antenna array, high atop the towers into a cell mast, and cellular coverage once again became available in Roywood. The views from the uppermost floors are spectacular, particularly in Henry Garson's old office on the top floor, where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire suburb. If one is not careful, one can easily plummet to death after falling out of the windows of the building.
