Talk:The PKer Kers
This Group Rocks
Just wanted to say that I appreciate your efforts to help the survivors and keep the game balanced. PKing by nature is a dishonorable tactic, which is what makes it appealing. Walk (through barricades) up to someone on your team who doesn't expect anything, and kill them in a way that they can't possibly defend or stragegize against. Team killing isn't a concept unique to Urban Dead, and in the world of online gaming, it is generally frowned upon. In most games it is considered a form of griefing. Its no surprise then that hardcore gaming friends Calleigh Duquesne and Melancholy One took a stand against it.
So while PKing may not be against the rules of the game, it is a rule pretty much universal to gaming culture. Its a taboo. I suppose that is what makes it attractive to some. What I find interesting is that people who choose to PK often take it very personally when they are the ones who are hunted and killed. I guess it isn't very fun when roles are reversed.
In the context of Urban Dead, the strategic advantages afforded to survivors, particularly barricades, are rendered invalid. This breaks the game balance. The only way to keep PKers out of the barricades is to ensure that they are dead and unable to free run. For survivors, the use of bounty hunters has a high amount of value in terms of strategy. p I'm not here to get preachy. From the perspective of gaming culture, however, I can see why PKing is considered disagreeable. Even with that aside, a strategic approach to the game makes bounty hunting necessary. Gotta run. Your Quote
Quoting the Joker, a person who I may remind you killed many people for no reason, seems to make absolutely zero sense when you are a group of bounty hunters. Might I remind you, that these days it seems that bounty hunters have more to fear than player killers? I have killed dozens upon dozens and a good 3/4ths of my kills are never noticed or recorded. Good luck on your journey, however I'd like to leave you with this: "Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster." and "..and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." - Fredrich Wilhelm Neitzsche. -- THELORDGUNSLINGER 18:08, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
No need to remind anyone of anything my partner Calleigh could relate to the quote somewhat and thought it fit twas her edit. "what your ball fall off" for example reminded her of a time when she caught a member of a pker group shoting her as she was on. she fired back and guess what? he ran...
we later found him hiding in a hospital then we decided he'd be more comfortable sleeping in the streets. ^-^ --Melancholy One 21:15, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Pls dont K me
This would have to be the most amusing group name I've read since I've been here. Liberty 03:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Not to mention this line:

honor to help you get revenge on those who do not follow the game rules |
Where does the game rules say that Pking is illegal-outside of zerging nothing is illegal (as in, can be banned for.) Things like text rape are strongly discouraged by the community-and Kevan (as well as zerging and impersonation.
However, outside of paranoid survivors, Pking is just another part of the game, along with zombies and survivors.
Now, just to clear this up (before I get called *gasp* a Pker,) I'm not against bounty hunting. Along with Pkers, they are part of a game. But having lines like the above will just get you drama. Linkthewindow Talk 05:54, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
OK! seeing as its been forever and that i just noticed this now. The Games rules do state that multiple characters are allowed HOWEVER they must lead compleatly seperate existances and basically not work together in the same suberb. Most Pkers however basically dont follow this rule i figure.. when you get attacked by 6 diff pkers withing the time span of say 20 min theres a big tipoff there.

- Firstly, if you are referring to zergers then I apologize. However, in the context of the page (especially considering "zerger" isn't mentioned once on the page - neither is "zerg",) it's reasonable to assume that you are referring to pkers.
- Secondly, most Pker groups in the game have rules against zerging, or at least don't tolerate it among their members. To save you searching:

- Chances are, if several Pkers have attacked you a few minutes apart, they have been coordinating (via IRC, usually.) Zombie groups as well (and survivor groups, as well,) have strike times. Several people coordinating can give the impression of zerging. Are they however? No.
- Generalizing a whole play style as employing zerging isn't wise. Many people have been caught or accused of zerging, from all sides. I find that zombie groups are the best with dealing with accusations of zerging, survivor groups the worst.
- By the sounds of things, it doesn't seem like you know many Pkers. That's fine - the game's a learning experience. Once you do, I think you'll find (going beyond those mindless greifers,) that they are some great people. Regardless of your in-game actions (ie:killing them,) it doesn't mean that you must hate them out-of-game too. Linkthewindow Talk 06:35, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
OK then to respond. for Starters since you think you know it all here my "drama starter" so it seems
just because the page is against Pkers Doesnt mean i hate them out of game
im sure that there are some awsome ppl out there who pk but i havent formally met any yet
However this wiki page is for our bounty hunting group FOR the game if you havent noticed
so we can hate on pkers here if we want its our niche in the game i suppose as chosen by our members.
second we never said ALL pkers are Zergs
There are pkers who zerg in case youve never heard of the Smith Zergers
and when i referred to being attacked by 6 diff pkers in such a timespan, if it had happened to someone else they to would have suspected zerging, i mean being attacked by 1 then another and another? what are thay just waiting in line? or is some one on the other end switching to another character over and over again? sorry if thats highly suspicios to me.If it was an IRC i would have expected them all at once.
Third just because im tired of the matter of the quote that i didnt write(im more of an editor/coder for this wiki
i didnt write most of the quotes i handle updates on our black list for the most parts nowadays) ive changed the text on the page to stop the drama.
And fourth i do not mean to have anyone take offense here i apologize im just really tired of ppl giving me a hard time about this it is just a game right. Sorry if our page isnt to your liking. And it would be nice if this would end here
Random Convo CLOSED! hopefully

- This group is so cool that the only reason you want to talk to them is to shamelessly advertise your webcomic? Liberty 08:43, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- *facepalms*. I wasn't "giving them a hard time" (well, maybe I was,) but at the same time, I was pointing out that lies ("Pking is against the game rules!!!") will just get them drama. So meh. Linkthewindow Talk 08:47, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
