The Carner Hotel

Description

The Carner Hotel (pronounced "ka-NAH") is the only hotel in the suburb of Dunningwood. It is unique for other reasons as well. While the original proprietors had gone out of business nearly 80 years prior to the Malton Incident, the run-down Victorian building has recently been restored as a "Gentlemen's Club."

The sign out front says: Hiring Girls and Bodyguards: No Zeds Need Apply.

History

The new propritor, "Madam" Taco2 has cleaned out the cobwebs, pulled off the couch covers, polished the woodgrain and restored the joie de vivre. The place and is now serving wine, champagne and comfort to the battle-wearied survivors of Dunningwood. The interior is covered in garish red velvet curtains and plush, but heavily stained, antique Victorian furnishings. Large oil paintings of rotund nudes munching on grapes as they recline in their chaise lounges adorn the carefully papered walls. Ornate stairs lead up to an open-air gallery of themed rooms on the second and third floors.

The Carner is affiliated with the Zombra's Pub franchise in nearby Earletown. (The radio frequency for appointments is 27.53)

Mid-2007 - Former HQ of the Uncyclopedian Forces.

Barricade Policy

In keeping with the policy of aiding new survivors, this building should be kept at VSB++, unless under siege.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building.

Neutrality Rules

In a region crippled by warfare between survivor groups, this hotel offers a safe zone for everyone, including innocent survivors who have nothing to do with the local comflicts.

This is a neutral establishment that is disinterested in the petty feuding between Crocodile Cultists, Gunner Bank Defenders, Dunningwood Warriors, Members of the Church of Xenu or any other parties. No leaving of stuffed crocodiles, no tagging of propaganda messages or posting of Xenu flyers. No insulting patrons. Keep your fights outside in the street. Fighting in the establishment will not be tolerated. Any survivor found lowering the barricades, breaking items, or harassing the girls will be summarily executed and have their carcass dumped outside for the zeds.

Current Events

May 18, 2016 - A trio of undead breached the barricades and killed several people, including Annie Kat of the Malton Civil Defense Unit.

May 17, 2016 - Several members of the Department of Emergency Management had a nice barbecue in the building before moving on. Some undead activity in the neighborhood, so the official MPD advice is to find safe shelter in other locations. Barricades are up, lights are out.

Nov 13, 2009 - Conditions here are untenable. I'm outta here. The greatest threat here does not come from the zeds, but the idiotic and destructive behavior of the groups that have set up camp here. Awful. Taco2

Nov 9, 2009 - Ok, so this isn't a calm neighborhood. Crocodile Cultists and Dunningwood Warriors and all sorts of other loons seem to be fighting with little care about the threat of zombie invasion. This place is a war zone. Taco2

Nov 8, 2009 - Neighborhood seems calm and the clients, many of them fleeing from the MOB assault in Earltown, seem quite happy. Taco2
