Security Consoles

Timestamp: Canuhearmenow Hunt! 21:21, 21 September 2006 (BST)
Type: New Item.
Scope: Making forts more defensible.
Description: This would add "Security Doors" To forts, now this isn't the final version so I'll just say the basics. When a Fort is powered it activates its Security Doors, which don't respond to MoL and attacks (Survivors can get in due to a bio-scanner) before you say griefing listen to this, there is a new target to attack when the Doors are locked, called The Security Console, it has the HP of a light Barricade, its located inside and outside the fort, upon breaking it you get this message "You smash the console, a flicker of electricity bursts forth, the Doors unlock" Then it behaves like a normal door. The console stays broken until someone fixes it, they must have Construction, it costs 5 AP to fix. Won't be too big of a problem, since there is only 2 Forts that must be VS+2, and also makes them more lucrative targets.

  2. Keep- Adds an extra layer of defense to the currently weak forts. I like it.--Grigori 02:13, 22 September 2006 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Armoury's don't have to be kept at VS++, though. I know it makes sense to do so, but they can be extremely heavily barricaded, if survivors so wish. What is "MoL"? Can you access the door if the building is heavily barricaded? The armoury is one of the very few locations in the game that you can secure against a Free Running PKer - this may nerf that. Can you attack the door if there are barricades there? --Funt Solo 12:41, 22 September 2006 (BST)
    • Re - MoL is Memories Of Life. And to answer your question; No, it behaves like a door to a survivor, higher then VS+2 and you can't get in. Hmm, not sure how to decide with your last question, what do you think?--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 23:15, 22 September 2006 (BST)
      • Re - I say to be able to attack the security door and be able to damge it severely to a point where it has to be fixed by someone with the construction skill. Give people 2 ways to destroy the security console. But the door will have a HP of a VSB building. --Axe Hack 00:32, 23 September 2006 (BST)
    • Re - I think you could simplify this - instead of all the complicated rules you suggest - just say that a zombie with MoL has a % chance of being able to open the security door, instead of it being automatic. Figure the % so that it's similar in 1AP to what would be needed for the zombie to destroy a light 'cade. (I'm not doing the math.) Humans can open/close it as normal. (I worry that other votes, like me, would be confused by the suggestion as it stands.) --Funt Solo 12:48, 23 September 2006 (BST)
      • Re - So... There should also be a percentage to open the door successfully once a zombie breaks the console?--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 15:05, 23 September 2006 (BST)
        • Re - That's what Funt Solo meant, Canuhearmenow...a slight % for zombies with the MoL skill to open the door after destroying the security console. --Axe Hack 15:25, 23 September 2006 (BST)
          • Re - Oh, so how about a 25% chance? Those Titanium doors are tough...--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 15:27, 23 September 2006 (BST)
            • Re - Fine with me. --Axe Hack 15:28, 23 September 2006 (BST)
              • Re - I guess it's too late now, but that's not what I meant. I meant forget about security consoles and just make it a tough to open door. --Funt Solo 16:44, 23 September 2006 (BST)
                • Re - .......OK......Canuhearmenow....you may now give me the pink slip for being a bad English-to-English translator............... --Axe Hack 16:48, 23 September 2006 (BST)
