The Story So Far

Ross Beckett was chosen by NecroTech, along with many other employees of the company, to stay behind after the evacuation of Malton. This was in order to help monitor and control the the situation. He somehow managed to lie low in his office in Owsleybank for the first 11 months of the zombie outbreak, but eventually came to realise that there would be no escape, and no final cessation of zombie activity for a long, long time. It was at this point that he became much more active ((character creation point)).

After a brief spell wandering the streets of Malton in search of zombies to examine, he remembered hearing that certain members of a forum he frequented had formed an organised peace-keeping corps. Knowing that he could not rely on NecroTech to provide safety or action, Beckett decided to contact the WSFFG.

After being recruited, he headed for Havercroft, where the rest of his new group were engaging the zombie hordes at the Mall. He arrived just in time to witness, and to a lesser extent participate in, the end of the Battle of the Bear Pit.

As the WSFFG and other groups focused their attention on Barrville, Beckett began to make strafing runs on the zombie stronghold. Not being a fighter, he mainly extracted DNA for the NecroNet, and used his time in Havercroft Mall to gather useful items.

Not long afterwards, the Big Bash entered Havercroft and, to everyone's surprise, immediately decimated the survivors in the Mall. Forced to retreat, he made it to Yagoton, home of the WSFFG, and the location at which he and his comrades were expected to regroup.

After a long wait, and constant communication with other survivor-held malls, it became clear that the Big Bash had bypassed Yagoton. Not wanting to be away from the action for too long, the WSFFG migrated to Tynte Mall in Pimbank - the perfect position from which to resume strafing runs on the zombie homeland.

It wasn't long before news spread of the siege of the Blackmore Building (a NecroTech lab in Ridleybank, rumoured in some circles to be the source of the zombie outbreak) - the beginnings of which Beckett was able to see for himself on his frequent excursions through the area.

Several members of the WSFFG, including Beckett, then became involved in the defence of the Blackmore Building, as part of the unofficial 'Blackmore Bastard Brigade'. Although by this time Beckett had developed many other skills, he still viewed himself primarily as a scientist and, as such, his role was in support of the fighters.

After a long seige, and with Beckett temporarily out of action due to infection, the Blackmore Building fell to the relatively new, but very powerful zombie group Shacknews. Alive, but out on his own in enemy territory, Beckett received word from his comrades in the WSFFG that most of the few survivors from the BBB were regrouping at the familiar Havercroft Mall.

Having arrived at relative safety, Beckett awaited word of further group movements, hoping to get back into the fight. However, news came that the group were moving to Marven Mall for a short period. After migrating to this area, Beckett used his time in the practically zombie-free zone not only to stock up on useful items and weapons, but also to train, using any zombie unfortunate enough to wander into the vicinity as target practice.

After staying behind for a while to hone his skills, Beckett then moved off to Buckley Mall, following the rest of the WSFFG. Now, using the quiet areas around the mall, Buttonville and Wyke Hills, as a base, Beckett can often be seen hunting zombies and generally being heroic in the more dangerous surrounding waters.

This user or group entered Glorious Battle beside the Channel 4 News Team. There were horses and a man on fire and this user or group killed a guy with a trident. Afterward, we could barely lift our arms because we killed so many zombies. I don't know if you heard us counting. We killed over 1,000.
