| rowspan=1 width="100%" valign="top" | When the incident took place in Malton, Suzy "Taco" Scopes was still a young girl.  She quickly learned to hide and find resourceful ways to survive.  One day while sleeping in thé attic of her grandfather "Zeke's" home she heard a terrible scratching and banging on the attic door. Knowing it wasn't a good idea, but having watched too many Scooby Doo cartoons, she cracked open the door.  Horrified, she stumbled back and tumbled head over heels into a box of Christmas garland. There was Grandpa Zeke--his body half eaten, covered in grave mold and riddled with worms!  She thought this would be the terrible end for her, but Zeke did not advance futher.  He just pointed with a skeletal finger to an olive-drab footlocker in the corner of the attic and gently swayed.

Even in death there was something still gracious about Granpapy Zeke. Suzy carefully stood back up and side-stepped over to the foot locker.  On the top was stenciled in fading yellow paint, "Ssgt Scopes, US ARMY RANGERS." Opening the box, she discovered it was full of Grandpapy's WWII memorabilia.  Her intent curiosity helped diminish the moans of the undead mobs mixed with the terrified screams of unfortunate survivors that filled the cold dark air outside.  She found a rusting German MP-40, a .45 automatic, a moth-eaten garrison cap, and a bunch of black and white photos of Zeke as a young and courageous soldier. In a small box was half a dozen colorful medals. At the bottom of the box, rolled up in a tube, she found a "Ranger" patch and a copy of the "Ranger's Creed.

Looking up she saw her rotted corpse of a grandfather beginning to turn back towards the stairs. She yelled, "Grandpa Zeke, wait!"  Zeke stopped and turned, his hollowed eyeholes staring off into infinity. Suzy rose and walked over to the old dessicated corpse she had once loved. She carefully pinned the medals she had found in the footlocker to the torn remnants of his suit. Suddenly, she heard a sound, which could have only come from the depths of the zombified veterans forlorn soul, for he no longer had any semblance of a throat.  The sound was an unmistakable..."HOO RAH!"

As Grandpa Zeke's animated corpse jostled down the stairs and back into the street, the young girl knew that she must carry on. Since Nov. of 2009, the Earletown Rangers under the command of the resolute and unassuming girl with red hair, called "Taco," have been doing their best to organize Earletown and keep it safe for innocent survivors.  Their training and dedication to the mission is so strong that even dead Rangers, affectionately known as 'Zekes' will fight for their comrades and their mission with the same unwavering loyalty and determination.

The Rangers are a pro-survivor group whose mission focus in Malton is threefold:

After a year leading the Rangers, Lt. Suzy "Taco" Scopes, boarded a helicopter to rejoin her family outside of the infected zone.  During her absence, the Rangers were led by Hiteikan.  In October 2010, Suzy suddenly showed up again, willingingly coming back into the infected zone to rejoin her Rangers.  Things had changed, however, and Suzy did not realize it. Hiteikan resented being pushed aside. The newer Rangers were not loyal to her and it came to a head when several of them refused to follow a direct order.  As a result, the Rangers underwent a purge with most of its members leaving to join new squads.  But, Suzy pushes on...because she knows that her purpose in Malton goes beyond a group of individuals.  It's about making Malton safe and preparing for the next horde.

Group History

The Earletown Rangers were originally formed in November 2009 as a sub-group of Zombra's Pub known back then as "Zombra's Pub Rangers". The sub-group was led by Taco2, a sassy no-nonsense woman who knew how to get the job done, and the group's primary tactical objective was to restore security to Earletown after the Militant Order of Barhah had rolled through and destroyed the entire suburb. Taco2 began her recruitment mission in Dunningwood where she hoped to find fresh recruits that she could mold into a deadly combat unit. Among the first to enlist was HiteiKan. With new members swelling their ranks the Rangers' first task was to travel from Dunningwood back to Earletown, all while dealing with any threats posed by the MOB or the many ferals which now roamed the streets and ruined buildings of Northeast Malton. Eventually the Rangers' efforts to help rebuild and fight the zombie menace attracted the attention of Sgt Erikson of the RHVP who worked together with the Rangers. Eventually Sgt Erikson would depart, returning to his home suburb of Rolt Heights, however so impressed was he with the Rangers that he chose to later return as a full-fledged member, Ed "Lasers" Zeplin.

After Earletown's zombie situation had settled down, in no small part thanks to the efforts of the Rangers, Taco2 decided to break from Zombra's Pub, thus officially forming the survivor group you see before you... the Earletown Rangers.

In February 2011 the Earletown Rangers were officially listed as "Inactive". It was the end of a group whose proud legacy of defending the survivors of Earletown would live well beyond their time.
