History
Sansbury Plaza School has the distinction of being the most chronically underfunded High School in all of Malton. Mercifully, it was shut down permanently after the outbreak, though if there was any difference in the quality of education provided, the flesh-eating zombies strolling the premises seemed not to notice.
For many years, the building here was actually a Sainsbury's Supermarket, part of a Malton-wide chain of stores offering affordable produce at a number of convenient locations. In the 1970s Foulkes Village experienced a boom in the teenage population and Elsworth Square School was expanded into a secondary school. However, by the early 80s a recession had hit Foulkes, and Elsworth had become over-crowded. Therefore the eminent need arose to construct another secondary school in Foulkes Village, quickly and cheaply.
The solution was for Foulkes Village to annex the local Sainsbury's, which had recently been closed while repairs were completed on it's faulty air-conditioning. Within two months, the building was re-opened as Sansbury Plaza School. While city planners assured outraged parents that the school would be "completely renovated" in time for the start of class, the students and faculty found an institution that was lacking in a number of areas.
Cutting Corners
It became clear to the unfortunate students who transferred to Sansbury Plaza School that very little had been done to get the old supermarket up to code. The entire school smelled strongly of mold, indicating the repairs to the air-conditioning had never been finished. The walls dividing classes appeared to be made of salvaged materials. The athletic facilities consisted of an empty asphalt lot, and a metal pole rising from a slab of concrete (for what purpose, it is still unknown). The entrance to the school appeared to be the same sliding glass doors at the threshold of the old supermarket, and it seemed as though the "I", and "'S" from "Sainsbury's" had been crudely removed to fashion the "Sansbury" sign. Also, easy-listening was piped in through the intercom system at all times.
