September/December 2009

The next election will be around about the 25th of December assuming of course that there are no demotions either by inactivity or by choice with the Box's space up for grabs. -- Cheese 14:49, 26 September 2009 (BST)

Christmas election! Fuck yeah! --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 14:42, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Not fuck yeah. A lot of users might not have the chance to vote due to the holidays.-- SA 19:16, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
I'll be about. Such power. Mwah ha ha! --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:23, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Boxy could request an earlier election, starting on the 1st say, as an act of good faith to ensure that the full community gets a chance to vote. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 19:45, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Or alteratively extend the voting process, so it started earlier. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:51, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Extending the voting process is contrary to the policy, calling an election voluntarily is not. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 19:53, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
You people and your "rules" --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:54, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Good faith? The hell? What about "avoiding the christmas period by putting onesself up for election early even though he has had a short term already" makes good faith? UDWiki's activity goes up more during the late December-early January period, we just rock that much. Keep as is. Obviously. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 21:49, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Got some facts to show that? Might make an interesting article. I'm always being told that zombie activity goes down over the summer. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 21:51, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
They've been in my userspace for about 6 months dude. As for the zombie activity idea, which summer? English or Aussie? --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 21:53, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Northern Hemisphere. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 21:58, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm in the Northern Hemisphere!-- SA 22:25, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
(Pats on head) Well done. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 22:27, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
What is the usual holiday schedule? Off just before Christmas, and for a couple of weeks? -- boxy talkteh rulz 12:36 28 November 2009 (BST)
Depends? School holidays or? --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 12:41, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Any/all, I guess -- boxy talkteh rulz 12:42 28 November 2009 (BST)
I work up until Christmas Eve. Aus School holidays finish about <1 week before Christmas. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 12:44, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Likewise, finishing work on 21st. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 12:47, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
I think my day off is christmas eve, and I have to go in on christmas. :/ -- SA 19:00, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

A whole month is dumb. But I think having it on, say, the 20th instead of the 25th may suffice? If we feel so inclined? --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 00:18, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't care either way anymore. I gotta work christmas anyway and I am in grumpy mode. >:| -- SA 02:15, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
20th sounds good to me -- boxy talkteh rulz 10:48 3 December 2009 (BST)
20th seems fair, but I'd suggest the 21st. It's a monday so it feels right, plus it's more of an evenly-spaced period either side of Christmas day so anyone busy on one side of it has time the other side. Nothing to be done! 22:27, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
20th is a bit pointless really, given that it's the same Monday to Friday week as Christmas, anyone who interwebs from school/uni/college is likely to be away and therefore can't vote. If you're going to move it, then Friday the 18th would include such backwards people without home iwebs (though it'd obviously have to kick off from start of school/uni/college time in the Antipodes to allow everyone a chance. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 15:16, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Boxy's so clever

I just realised, having a name that comes first alphabetically is an amazing tactical ploy. Aaron A. Aardvark is a sure fire winner for the next crat elections. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:12, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

That'd be hilarious. Oh. Except in the last 2 years, 10 or so elections it's happened basically twice, both of which were just Boxy anyway. :/ -- 11:25, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Not that I'm implying that most wikizens cant be bothered scrolling. Although it would explain why people aren't voting for SA. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:27, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh cmon, we aren't ALL lazy. SA isn't getting a vote because he's a dud op who doesn't bother taking the job seriously anymore. -- 11:30, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Demote the cunt this response stolen from SA --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:32, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Don't say that infront of Read. He will have your head he's actually the one that 'invented' it -- 11:34, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, but i stole it from SA who stole it from him. Always pay it forward. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:37, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
The system WORKS!!! -- 11:39, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
No wonder Xoid left us Face-sad.png -- boxy talkteh rulz 12:02 18 December 2009 (BST)

Hm, yeas, I'm a dud sysops who doesn't take da job srsly anymore.-- ¯\(°_o)/¯ 13:46, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

<3 SA Aichon 19:28, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

I do have to say, having a screen name close to the start of the alphabet really is rather nice. It's easy to find your name on lists, to say the least. Aichon 19:28, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Maybe I should change my name. :( --ZsL 19:46, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Yours is easy to find too. It's just at the other end. :) Aichon 19:58, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
:D --ZsL 20:01, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

So does this mean that I am the best? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 21:23, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

I think this guy has us beat. Though, coincidentally, his first contribution was made today after this discussion started... Aichon 21:45, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Probably that 'tard's alt, he knows who I am talking about. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 22:01, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
It's a unique user insofar as much as it does not be matching any ips here. :/ -- ¯\(°_o)/¯ 23:04, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
