Haphazard Haslock

Dezonus,

I have no clue why Poopface just mauled your character when you got into Haslock. That isn't something I've seen before. If you go into Curton, someone will revive you promptly--myself, even (once I get enough AP to do so). I'm sorry that your first visit to Haslock has been so discourteous. Poopface is not affiliated with THEM in any way, no member of THEM would condone such an action.

Sincerely,

--Hartgrave 03:22, 1 August 2010 (BST)

Hartgrave,
Thanks for the heads up. Im back in Curton, my 3rd visit. (1st I needed a revive, 2nd I revived someone, 3rd I need another revive). Annoying, but I can understand that some people are A-Holes, lol :P. Just, if you can do me a favour and discuss Poopface with them, I'd apreciate it :)

NecroNet

Just deleted the previous user on the user= line and sign. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 09:54, 2 August 2010 (BST)

Hi

I noticed your question on Axe Hack's page about signatures. There is a lovely page called Help:Signatures that gives you an overview and a guide, but the short jist of it is that you make a signature page as a subpage of your username (for example, User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig but yours would be User:Dezonus/sig), you make what you'd like to appear as your signature and then you go to preferences at the topright hand corner of the wiki, and change the "nickname" field so it says {{SUBST:Nosubst|User:Dezonus/sig}}. Then, tick the button under it that's "raw signatures", and save, and then just sign like you normally would and viola!

It can be a painful trial and error process so if you need any help, be sure to hit me up. Good luck, --

sig fixing

Hey, I fixed the sig, DW it's a common issue when making a new sig :( but some of the tags weren't there when they were needed, this makes the sig look dandy until you use it, in which it horribly breaks everything. here is the example, but I won't bog you down with any more talking, the point is: it's fixed for now. Have a good time on the wiki! --

Re: The Daubeney Building

Hi! I was in The Daubeney Building about a month ago. Yes, there was quiet, and this building has helped me to hide at night. But this month could change a lot, maybe to become ruins. I don't know. I'm in Brooksville now, but if you need my help, I can run there in exploration ;)

Re: the Daubeney Building (done)

"You are standing outside the Daubeney Building, a small grey-stone building which has partially collapsed. The building's doors have been left wide open, and you can see that the interior of the building has been ruined.

There are three other zombies here.

There are six dead bodies here."

"You are inside the Daubeney Building. The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories. The laboratories have been ruined, with broken equipment smashed to the floor. The floor and walls are marked with splashes of blood. The doors to the street have been left wide open.

Somebody has spraypainted EBC-------------- frequently under siege onto a wall.

There is a group of eight other zombies here.

There is a dead body here."

Came. Looked. All bad\\

Re: Ridleybank

Apologizes for not responding sooner, was away from the internet this last week. As for having a base in Ridleybank... I've done three expeditions to Ridleybank and the Blackmore Building, one of which was immediately after a midsized ((around 50 members)) group had come in and rebuilt most of it((Most of the RRF at the time was dealing with Escape)). That time, a barricaded, lit building lasted for, oh, around 30 hours. Other two times, barricades were knocked down and the character killed within 12 hours of trying to reclaim it.

Of course, that is probably due to his... "Unorthodox" tactics. Trying to use Fertilize The Land with the rotting members of the RRF went surprisingly well, managed to clear out the building, and due to most of the RRF's nature, the members rekilled themselves and worked at killing the building that way, rather than PKing me. I suppose if you chose a non-strategic building at first and don't do the suicidal things my Dual Nature character do, could probably sneak in a base for a while. How long a while really all depends on how well you can prevent feeding groans and how busy the RRF is with the BB3. Personally, think it would end in death within at most a week. The following page(s) were orphaned, meaning they weren't linked from any other page on UDWiki. For house-keeping's sake, we are adding the link onto the relevant talk page. If you don't want the pages anymore just post them on the Deletions Page. You aren't required to do anything, but we'd appreciate if it you kept the link on any one of your pages.

Please note that the link provided below will not remove the page from Orphaned Pages, so you'll still need to manually make a link for us. Thank you.

Your page, DI:MD/nav, was not linked to on the wiki. This message is just to provide a link for it and clear it from our orphanage. Inclusions on pages do not count.--User:Yonnua Koponen/signature2 11:55, 16 August 2010 (BST)

Re: Badge help

I think the most common method of creating stuff like that is either being very good at the graphic stuff, or just copying it all from a template you like. Sorry, but I usually use the latter method :-) --Itsacon (Talk | Grungni | Ikhnaton) 11:48, 7 September 2010 (BST)

Jobs

As you look like you're after more jobs, a criminally neglected area of the wiki is Suburb/History#The_Record. Basically we're supposed to record regular screenshots of Suburb but very rarely do. Nice little project for you, and you can learn about wiki tables and image positioning and stuff. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:44, 19 September 2010 (BST)

Cool, don't forget Category:Images --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:55, 19 September 2010 (BST)

Jobs 2: The mean version

Yeah, just read ross' post above.

You looking for a job? IMO the best job around here that prepares you for an op is doing the categories for images and pages that aren't categorised. You can find them at Special:Uncategorizedimages and Special:Uncategorizedpages. See that above category:images link for the possible categories you should use for images. For pages, they usually fall within Category:Survivor Groups Category:PKer Groups, Category:Zombie Groups, Category:Recruitment (if they are a recruitment ad for a group), Category:Group Subpages (if they are any sort of subpage for a group), and there are others like Category:Glossary, Category:History, Category:Events, Category:Tactics, etc.

Why is this the best thing to do if you want to become a sysop? Well, firstly, it gives you a first hand view on a vast majority of content that is being put onto UDWiki, so you get a feel for what's being created and maintained in the place. But most of all, it gives you the opportunity to be the main quality controller of that content. You'll find duplicate pages that noobs have made by accident, you'll find user pages that are in the mainspace by accident. You'll find pages that users have since blanked and want to be deleted. You'll find these and you'll put them on the specific administration pages to be fixed by us. While you're doing this you'll find ones that are grey-area pages which could be deleted/moved/protected and as you discuss the outcome of what will happen to these you'll meet the community and learn more about how it thinks and works. You'll find pages where you don't know how to categorise them and you'll need to ask its owner on what they intend to do with the page. So you'll be meeting and making an impression on newbies.

Lucky for lazy me and desperate you, Uncategorizedimages has been pretty unkept of late so there's a great amount of work to start you off. You're free to do it if you like. If you don't, forget your chances of becoming a sysop if you ask me, this is udwiki at the very core and it's the best way to learn. If you're not cut out for this, you really won't be cut out for the rest of UDWiki, especially if you're new to this like you are and need to learn the functions and uses of all the administration pages.

If you can keep those two lists empty for 2 weeks I promise you your edit count will at least double and your knowledge of the place will grow ridiculously, as will your usefulness as a user and your potential as a sysop. Keep it going for a month and you'll be sysop material, and keep it going for 2 months and you'll have proved you're here for the long haul.

And don't worry about screwing up the odd ambiguous category, if you don't know where to put something, ask. But either way, I'll be watching. -- LEMON #1 12:12, 21 September 2010 (BST)

Thanks for dumping your job on me, lol =P
I promise to give it my utmost best shot, and I don't plan to disapoint.
Just, one thing I ask, is let me know when you think I'm ready to apply for Sysop ;) (if ever) Red Eyes-Dezonus-Red Eyes (talk) 07:48, 22 September 2010 (BST)
No probs mate, when I'm genuinely sure, I always let them know. -- LEMON #1 10:21, 22 September 2010 (BST)

Swing and a Miss

Organization XIII is not just survivor, you know. I'd add the PKer category tags myself, but I'm currently editing with a PSP, and the editing capabilities from it are limited. Also can you move the category tags to the bottom of the page? Thanks. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 00:25, 24 September 2010 (BST)

Hey, Im from TZH just letting you know I've replied to your questions. --Obi + Talk!|TZH|MDK 23:23, 27 September 2010 (BST)

Apology

Seeing as your the one who found it, your the one I should apologize to. The page was indeed as you found it, very offensive, I acknowledge that. It may sound cheesy, but I'm sorry for the fact I brought my habitual humor from Uncyclopedia, to this wiki, which was uncalled for. These people on this wiki are much more classy, straight down to the newbies, than the people over at encyclopedia. I'm remaking the article. It's your choice to understand or not. Classy humor is better than crappy satire. --Officer Mead Sheaffer 18:17, 29 September 2010 (BST)

GSGM

Hey there. I noted that 2 groups I work with in Lockettside forgot to respond to the GSGM call. The Lockettside Valkyries and the Lockettside Defense Corp are still active. In all honesty we haven't really been keeping up to date with the wiki lol. Srry for any issues this causes.--Dragon fang 01:10, 6 October 2010 (BST)
