Important Events
Important events in AH history are recorded here, from the group's first Major Campaign, to the most recent.
2005:
- August 28, 2005 - Tenk forms Axes High. At first, the fear of zombies causes many to be wary about not using guns. But a couple step up early: Fireman Cuthbert and Brian Boru. Soon, others join--one by one, or in small groups--individuals who have seen far too much death and far too many of their loved ones slaughtered. Axe slingers gather to wage war on the undead, fighting for the living and forswearing firearms. Axes High first gathers in Shackleville at the Horsey Museum, where a hospital and two fire stations make for a familiar base. Tenk creates the first Axes High website using his beat up laptop and the spotty electricity. At first, Tenk was the clear leader, with his heroism and military genius an example for all. But he did not thrive as the sole leader and sought input from the others. There was a vote among the members. They voted against a permanent hierarchy and voted for leadership which led by example, with each member able to contribute ideas and inspiration. Tenk was the first among equals, until his untimely death. In late September a vote was taken to move operations to Barrville, with Strange Bank acting as the headquarters.
- October 23, 2005 - This date saw the successful conclusion of Axes High's first major campaign, the occupation and defense of Floyde Stadium. For more than 2 weeks they were able to successfully repel near constant incursions into the stadium by a large group of zombies, later tentatively identified as the Church of the Resurrection based on scattered information available at the time. When news of an impending attack on the entire suburb of Barrville by elements of the Ridleybank Resistance Front and the Undying Scourge was discovered, as well as anticipating the overdue modification to the in-game mechanics governing movement within large buildings, the decision was made to move to a more defensible location. Prior to the move to a more active defensive position, Axes High encouraged those survivors who were then staying in Floyde Stadium to find an alternate shelter before the zombie hordes arrived. It is estimated that between 15 and 20 non-aligned survivors were saved from the predations of the Ridleybank Resistance Front and the Undying Scourge as a direct result of this strategic withdrawal.
2006:
- February 6, 2006 - In a devastating attack on the stronghold of Axes High by The Ridleybank Resistance Front, much of the Axes High membership was killed in a single attack. Sadly, some of those who fell in combat had just returned from other parts of Malton shortly after answering the call to defend Barrville at all costs. The RRF won this battle. They have not won the war.
- March 15, 2006 - Axes High is still resident within their self-proclaimed home of Barrville and are still taking the fight to the zombie incursions. Their efforts have been heartened by the recent return of one of their members, Maggy Smith, who was missing in action for more than a month and a half. Maggy Smith, as always, can be found offering support to those that need it most.
- April 12, 2006 - Axes High, in the face of increasing pro-zombie vandalism in their home suburb of Barrville, decides that the best way to solve this intollerable situation (and get some fresh air) is to hold a tagging contest throughout the whole of the suburb...
- April 24, 2006 - Mason Wells, a long time member of Axes High, conducts a survey of the suburb of Barrville. Sadly there is little to report other than death and destruction on a massively widespread scale.
- August 18, 2006 - Axes High, Continues to support its chosen suburb of Barrville with dedication.
- November 29 2006- Rumors float about the city that Axes High has left the great city of Malton. I can tell you it is true many have left many more have been lost in the piles of Rotters and bodies. However some still persist fight for you the citizens of Malton. Axes High, Still Swingin.
2007:
- April 06 2007- Getting back on our feet again, Barrville will be reborn under our protection.Barrville was cleared and caded -life is sweet for now.
2008:
- JANUARY 05 2008- Well on New Years Eve THE DEM decided to party, this occured in the corfield arms in Stanbury Village over 200 ranks attend the function in doing so they travelled thru barrville and caded the suburb to the maximum so life is sweet for now.
- January 20 2008The big bash2 has ground to a halt over at Giddings mall the ferals are wandering towards the home burb so we have retreated to Barrville once more to make it safe
the areas quite reasonably protected by ourselves and the Crimson Clan today survivors are needed to move into thia area for it to thrive
- February 10 2008 life getting a mite rough as a band of ferals appear to be takig root around the area of woolsett (nt)building and the Egan (nt)building its very much a daily retake battle with this group of persistent offfenders
- March 4th - 19th 2008 Operation Phoenix Part 1, Axes High managed to hold and rebuild Galbraith Hills for 19 Days. During this time we managed to revive and reclaim the burb with a small crew, Drawing Zed forces from other areas, we managed a orderly withdrawal and sacrificed our lives for other burbs to have a chance.
- May 15, 2008 Axes High, still operating in Barrville, has experienced a new revival of the suburb in the wake and demise of "The Dead". Buildings are barricaded fully (almost too fully), survivors are healthy and happy, and the Rambling Drunks are Rambling and Drinking. It is a beautiful day in Barrville.
- July, 2008 Axes High participated in a joint operation with their allies, the Cannonball Crew, to retake Fort Perryn. After helping in the recapture of the fort and its occupation for five days, We were called away to aide long time allies, The Crimson Clan at Ackland Mall
