Billet Road Fire Station
Description
Humans and zombies alike will see the following (permanent) description when standing outside the building:
"You are standing outside Billet Road Fire Station, a small grey-stone building surrounded by a large paved plaza."
Such a description is always followed by a report of the building's condition (e.g. the level of its barricades), but since that report is never permanent and always subject to change, it is redundant to include it here as well.
History
Billet Road Fire Station is a fire station located at about the center of the suburb of Pitneybank. It is one of two fire stations in the suburb and the closest one to Giddings Mall. The small amount of fire stations in Pitneybank is most likely due to the large amount of streets in the suburb in addition to Billet's close proximity to multiple factories, warehouses, and auto shops.
Throughout the entire history of Pitneybank, prior to the outbreak, the station had always been underused and ill-staffed due to the infrequent fires that occurred in the suburb. The mayor of Pitneybank even tried to close down Billet multiple times, but ultimately and always failed as a result of the opposition of firefighter unions in this and neighboring suburbs. After the zombies appeared and began to ravage Malton the fire station became a safe point for survivors, largely because of the continuing dedication of the firefighters who worked at that station.
Barricade Policy
The fire station is to be always set at very strongly barricaded +2 (VSB+2) in order that survivors without the freerunning skill can seek refuge in the building. In times of mass siege or crisis, Billet can be upgraded to extremely heavily barricaded (EHB) in order to ensure the safety of the survivors inhabiting the building. The fire station can also be used as an entry point to Giddings Mall for survivors that possess the freerunning skill.
