Description
Named after Lord Cholmondeley, it is pronounced "Chumley." One of the more luxurious buildings in Malton, it was meant to house the headquarters and various meeting places for societies and other associations that were composed of the affluent of Malton.
4 of the best restaurants in Malton were housed here, with one boasting seven kitchens dedicated to Japanese, Middle Eastern, Italian, Mediterranean, French, Chinese, and Indian cuisines. From lobby floors made of Italian marble, to carpets handwoven by Southeast Asian craftsmen, the administration spared no expense in the construction of the building.
Even better was the in-house staff who not only knew how to serve what a society member wanted before they even asked for it but also knew how to keep things discreet. Affairs and other clandestine meetings could be arranged in the Towers with only the involved parties and the in-house staff knowing about it. Beyond that, it was impossible for anyone to get hold of any possible juicy gossip that could be derived from events within the building.
History
pre-2005 - Normal operations. 2005 - After the military cordon is set up on Malton, The Towers miraculously retained its pre-apocalypse appearance. Rumors pointed to a secret society called The Lords of Malton protecting the building and using it as a safehouse. Unfortunately, those who were thought to be members of this grand society wound up disappearing from the city and anyone who has tried to investigate shared the same fate or were killed (albeit a temporary death) before learning the truth
2006 - 2010 - Building falls into periods of disrepair and renovation.
December 2010 - flashing lights and a great wind experienced by those staying temporarily. Various reports of a tall, eccentric man appearing in the suburb quickly followed these news.
Barricade Policy
EHB - At all times. For God's sake, we want to enjoy our tea.
