History

Before the Outbreak, Gibsonton was a depressed working class district, with several factories and warehouses. Even though, toward the end of the 80s, it was de-industrialized a bit. This meant there was still a lot of abandoned factories and yards that were ripe for local graffiti crews to do their thing. The suburb considered these old remnants of a depressed time eye-sores, even before the graffiti started to appear on the buildings, and plans to tear down the or remodel all these eye-sores were in effect until the outbreak occured. Colorful murals still adorn many of these "eye-sores" in Gibsonton. The Malton Graffiti Bombers were prominent in this suburb back then, and have reclaimed one of their old hangouts "The Edge Railway Station" as their current base of operations. The benches where commuters used to wait have been replaced with cots and a generator and radio transmitter have been shoved into the old ticket office.

A story from Static 1 MGB[[1]] :

"We used to sit right over there"

points to an old, dirty platform bench along a shadowed wall across the tracks::
This empty railroad station was once a part of the city's now extinct Malton Rail system.

"We would watch the trains roill in, with all the graffiti from outta town, and we would be like pointing and talking about the styles. We'd get high and shit, drink a beer or two. Then, when they shut down the station at night...we would creep in and do our thing on the trains. Try to come as tight as we could."

points to a dark space between two brick storehouses::

"That's where we used to get in and out of the station" "That's still where we get in and out of the station."

laughs::

The Malton Graffiti Bombers[2] have claimed this as their Headquarters.

Why?:

We need a place to call home/ base of operations.

We needed a place to set up our generator and transmitter.

We also wanted a place to display our newly acquired sculptures and museum swag.

This place seems to be unoccupied.

It appears to be a low-key building and not a necessary entry point.

It is close to a spray paint source.

It is not too close to buildings which may receive frequent attacks, such as Malls.

We welcome survivors in need of shelter, help, or some company, but please don't disrespect the place, or it's occupants.

Goals:

We will try to keep the barricades up, when needed.

We will try keep the generator and radio intact and running.

We will try to keep the inside and outside of the building marked as MGB HQ.

We will try to have a member inside or close as much as possible, to protect and maintain the building.
