Factory 88,50
Description
An imposing concrete building criss-crossed with police tape, with a pervasive stench of boiled hooves.
History
Founded in the late 1800s by local industrialist Walter Webber, the factory produced much of Malton's glue for over a hundred years until a combination of environmental concerns and a mass outbreak of zombies forced its closure.
Taking advantage of the nearby supply of cows, and the willingness of Pegtonians to put up with almost anything as long as it made life even worse for Dentonians, Webber's factory was highly profitable and surprisingly popular with the local residents. Not only did it provide jobs in the chronically deprived east of Pegton, but its foul-smelling black smoke - caused by the boiling of thousands of hooves - was carried by the prevailing winds right across Dentonside to the east.
Disgruntled Dentonians accused the factory's pollution of contributing to the zombification of eastern Malton, and noted that Webber himself lived in a house on the extreme western side of Pegton, far from the stink of his own factory. Webber's official reply was "Feck aff n stick it up yer erchie - wi' a wee bit o ma ain superglue if ye need tae."
