Basic Info:

  • All junkyards were sealed and locked at the start of the quarantine, and required wirecutters to enter, unless someone else had already cut the fence. It is widely recognised that all junkyards in Malton have already been cut open.

Junkyard 6,93

Description

History

New Arkham's largest junkyard spent most of it's life as "Big Rick's Discount Trash Repository" between 1823 and 1985. A staple of southwest Malton's waste disposal, the junkyard's ownership was handed down from generation to generation over this time, starting with Ricardio Cervanto and ending six generations later with Ricky Cervanto III.

The final owner of the yard, the eccentric, locally famed junkyard owner Ricky III was a renowned character with highly publicised, shady history of management of the yard. Whereas the family tradition had previously been strict management and sorting of items that come into Big Rick's Discount Trash Repository, Ricky III took any item that organisations would pay to dump. The Malton Gazette once named Big Rick's the "Stinky Ass of Malton" in 1979 and 1982. A Malton News expose proved a link between the smell from the yard and the dumping from many government contractors from within New Arkham, particularly the high number of NT buildings within the area.

Eventually, Ricky III declared bankruptcy. Bogged down in legal trouble relating to workplace accidents to his employees, he sold the yard to distant Necrotech competitor, Hamworth Holdings, in 1985. The area was immediately closed down to prepare for substantial forensic assessment of Necrotech's wast components, and the area remained closed until the outbreak. It is unknown if Hamworth found any substantial scientific findings from the site.
