Confessions of a NecroTech Employee
The civil government was collapsing, and homicidal maniacs were running free. Things were looking more dangerous than they had ever been; before the outbreak, the worst we had to worry about was an attack from those DNR lunatics. London Office was informing us that if we stayed in the building, we would be safe, but very few of us believed it. We had already gotten word of the events at the Cater Building. Most of us were concerned about attacks from DNR, so most of us performed an evacuation of our own. If London Office wouldn't be gracious enough to get us out... well, let's simply say that we weren't too concerned about being fired over theft.
Several coworkers from the Topleaf Building and I were holed up in the Younghusband Arms. The majority of us agreed that Dr. Yves Koch, a senior researcher in his early fifties, should lead the group. To make an extremely long story short, that night, the infected broke into the apartment and killed half of our group. Fortunately, Yves and I survived. We managed to take down a few of the killers, but ultimately, we were saved by a group calling themselves 'The Emerald Guard'. One of the infected - apparently a police officer named Keith Gallagher - was cured of his infection with a compound I would later know as Agent 51. They explained that they were a group of survivors with Irish heritage who dedicated themselves to helping others, and asked us if we needed any help. Pridefully, Yves declined. I joined the Emerald Guard that night, along with Officer Gallagher, and I haven't seen or heard from Yves since.
