Malton Taoist Temple/Feng Shui Tour 2013
The Feng Shui Tour 2013 is scheduled to occur from May 1 to June 30, 2013.
What is it?
The Feng Shui Tour 2013 is a two-month tour around Malton for survivors and zombies, visiting the twenty-six locations in Malton that have the best feng shui, or energy profile. The tour is intended to promote contemplation and discussion of Malton and the nature of life, death and undeath within it among participants, as well as showcasing a variety of locations in Malton and being generally fun.
The tour will depart from Roywood and spend two months traveling counterclockwise around Malton, reaching its destination in Jensentown after visiting twenty-four suburbs.
Optional Activities
In addition to walking with the Tour group and contemplating and discussing the nature of existence in Malton, there are a number of optional activities you may like to engage in. Some of these are listed below.
- Take in the sights, many of which are listed below.
- Greet locals whom you may encounter in whatever way you wish.
- Beautify the city by spraying over unpleasant messages with ones intended to uplift, challenge or entertain passersby.
- Engage in stimulating intellectual conversation on any topic under the sun.
- Sleep.
- Update building DangerReports on the wiki in order to help keep the Danger Center up to date.
- Expand Maltonian residents' knowledge by filling in the history of the locations you may pass, writing in the relevant wiki articles.
Who can come?
Anyone, zombie or human, PKer or life cultist, can join the tour. There is also no requirement to join for the entire tour - feel free to visit for a day, walk with us a week, or travel the whole thing.
There are a few guidelines to live by while on tour, though:
- To indicate you are traveling with the tour, you may put "Feng Shui Tour 2013" or "Malton Taoist Temple" in your group slot. While this is not required, it is convenient to identify other travelers on the tour.
- Please refrain from changing the life status, by either killing or reviving, other travelers for the duration of the tour, unless specifically asked (zombies can ask for a revive by asking the standard "Mrh?"). You may do whatever you like to those not on the tour.
- A given day's events will always be centered outdoors in the designated block, to promote appreciation of nature and for the convenience of zombies. The inside of the block, or an adjacent block, has been designated for those who wish to sleep indoors. Those arriving first should make sure the designated building is VSB; others on tour should keep it VSB when possible.
- You may go from stop to stop by any route you like, although more direct routes make it more likely you will encounter other travelers.
- All times will be calculated by server time. The "stops" will be calculated from midnight to midnight on the designated day.
- Enjoy the journey, and have fun!
Tentative Schedule
The schedule is designed to allow for one to two days between each of the 26 stops, to allow for time to travel and for meditative contemplation. The event is intended to spend 24 hours at each stop. For non-building stops, an adjacent indoor location has been designated for those who wish to remain survivors.

First Stop: Carpark 0,13, Roywood
Date: May 1st Indoor location: Henslow Street School, one block north
Over the course of April 1st, pilgrims will gather at Carpark 0,13 in Roywood. Located on the western border of Malton, this carpark is adjacent to Ladd Park, the only park in Roywood, a quiet and pleasant suburb of Malton. It is the perfect place to begin the journey of contemplation.
Travel
On May 2nd, travelers will make their way across Roywood into northeast Peddlesden Village.
Second Stop: Carpark 8,21, Peddlesden Village
Date: May 3rd
Pilgrims will visit this carpark, in the northeast of Peddlesden Village. It is located near Wookey Towers, significant in the history of Star Wars in Malton, and can contemplate pre-outbreak life in Malton. The history of the suburb is also to be considered, as a formerly forested area which became industrialized in the 1960s and has, since the outbreak, largely returned to nature.
Travel
Travelers will take two days to make their way from Peddlesden Village, across Chudleyton and West and East Becktown before arriving at Lukinswood. They may choose to visit historical Caiger Mall or think about the different past faith communities of Malton in the formerly Jewish neighborhood of East Becktown. The adventurous may take a southward detour via Dunell Hills.
Third Stop: Caller Way, Lukinswood
Date: May 6th Indoor location: The Shea Arms
Pilgrims will stay in the northeast of the suburb of Lukinswood, most well known as home to The Coram Building and the Emergency Broadcast System. The East side of the suburb is also close to Ackland Mall, location of many historic events post-outbreak. The northeast of Lukinswood is one of the newest-constructed in Malton, and most of its history is post-outbreak; thus this stop is the perfect time to reflect on the history of Malton post-outbreak. The indoor location, the Shea Arms, was the location of a major massacre in 2008.
Travel
After traveling through Lukinswood, tour members will enter the Southwest Quadrant of Malton in Lerwill Heights, location of several revive points for those who may have become zombified by this point in the tour. Travelers have two days to reach North Blythville.
Fourth Stop: Gilling Road Railway Station, North Blythville
Date: May 9th
This railway station is located at the corner of four suburbs, North Blythville, Lerwill Heights, Shore Hills and Brooksville. These suburbs are not the most well-known in Malton, although the very famous Tarasius General Hospital is also located at their intersection. That hospital is a former psychiatric institution, and pilgrims may choose to examine their own minds while sitting near its koi pond, still stocked with koi by the residents.
Travel
Pilgrims have a full day to make their way west across North Blythville into Mornington.
