Our namesake has been ransacked three times in a one week period. The damage was so extensive that I fear all of our progress on the conversion, from the Dewey system to the superior Library of Congress system, has been lost. Inspecting the suburb, there were no Librarians present. Even though the doors may be secured, there is nobody at the Quartly Library's reference desk tonight.

Much has been lost recently: Our precious Late-16th-Century-British-Plagiarist department lies in ruins. |

The QSG has been fighting on two fronts, my friends. We've been fighting the horrid bookburners in Roftwood, and a violent combination of ferals and the DoHS in Ridleybank. Our beloved Quartly Library has been ransacked several times, costing us dearly. Poor Librarian D. Beagle is missing and has not reported to any local libraries or revive points. In Roftwood we are still trying to rebuild our shattered literary haven, while in Ridleybank we wait and pray... |

Terrible news; with Librarians D. Beagle and S.F.o.E. engaged in the last stand at the Blackmore, our Library was dreadfully understaffed. A horrible clan of bookburners wiped out the Quartly Library. The Head Librarian, while understandably disappointed, feels that the chance to recover suspected caches of Forbidden Tomes of Knowledge that have long been thought lost to the Detestable Herd in Ridleybank is an opportunity that cannot be passed up. With that in mind, He has dispatched all available Librarians to the Blackmore Building to aid the New Malton Colossus in retaking Ridleybank. Quartly's Rare Book Vault is secure and most books were evacuated before the bookburners infiltrated the Library. Make no mistake, we will return to our namesake and take our revenge on the bookburners. |

All communication with the BookMobileTM Recovery Team have been lost. The Interns have not been able to carry any letters to our Librarians in Tollyton. Yes, it is a new century, and we accept that the mobile phone is considered "stylish” but nothing compares with the exquisite calligraphy of Committee Member Dr. Fallout, D.D.S.. The only response from Tavener has been an assortment of their books found in our overnight drop box at Turpin Crescent. |

Update on the Book Tour: After scouring the Ranahan Library, Brome Library and Stribling Library our Librarians have uncovered only portions of our beloved BookMobileTM. Committee Member D. Beagle found the largest part so far; the front fender. The trail of other parts of the vehicle has led the Recovery Team to the Boniface Library. Therein Librarian Dr. Fallout, D.D.S. located the keys, but the key chain’s fuzzy pink rabbit foot is gone. The good Doctor feels this is a bad omen. Following the trail through overgrown city streets, Committee Member S. Tonin lead the Team to the abandoned mall of Tollyton with the cursed Libraries of Tavener and Diaper. The twin Libraries and mall are constantly in danger, but the BookMobileTM (which the Head Librarian believes is in the underground parking lot) has our precious copy of Valis by P. K. Dick in the glove box, and we can't stand to see a book in trouble. Some arrivals at the Quartly Library: Gray's Anatomy from an intellectual YRC member and Standing Firm by Dan Quayle from a politically-motivated RRF member. |

Roftwood is now safe for the Literate: Dale has returned to his post and is none the worse for wear. Although the Ignorant Masses continue to attempt to stifle knowledge, our wonderful Librarians have made the suburb safe enough for day-to-day activities. With things having settled, the Head Librarian has initiated a new objective: Operation: Whisperer in Darkness. Two Committee Members and a Librarian have been dispatched to Ranahan Library in Shearbank with a laminating machine and a mission to give out library cards and locate the missing BookMobileTM. |

The reclamation of Roftwood continues. Our cherished library is now powered and the laminating machine is repaired. Library Cards for all! Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl was dropped in the night deposit slot, but Dale is still missing. Out hearts go out to his family and we are keeping a pot of coffee warm for his eventual return. Committee Member D. Beagle has been sent to recover a copy of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Other recent acquisitions include a trove of books for our growing Science Fiction section. Stop on by and browse our shelves. |

Many a library card has been torn apart in the suburb of Roftwood this last week. Librarians and Interns have had to travel as far as Rounsefell Library to recover the necessary supplies for reissuing these 'lost' Library Cards. During the Illiterate Throng's expansion, our Assistant Librarians went 'native' to recover our lost collection of Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Alas, the last member of the Monstrous Swarm to handle the trilogy removed the map of middle-earth. If seen, please return to any Librarian or Intern for proper restoration. |

Carnage abounds in Roftwood. Hildebrand Mall has fallen to the Putrid Multitude, and the glorious Quartly Library has been ransacked by the Stinking Monsters. Untold dozens of books have been destroyed or stolen. Most of the Committee are dead or M.I.A. All is not lost. Dale, our intrepid Security Guard, was last reported to be at Moon Way clutching a copy of Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank and our Most Esteemed ally Scheffler was last seen searching for alternate shelter. Many thanks to all who attempted to aid in the preservation of the Quartly Library. Fear not: We will rebuild! |

A banner weekend for the QSG: Recovered The Waste Land, Horton Hears A Who, and part of our rare leather-bound versions of Goethe's Faust [Acts II and IV from Part 2]. Librarians will soon be detailed to Nichols Mall to aid in the defense and investigate rumors of a copy of Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret? among the survivors. Philpotts Towers needs a Portable Generator installed and an amnesty on overdue fines is offered to whoever can supply one. On an unrelated note, if anyone finds Dale's nitro pills, they are asked to return them to the Quartly Library. |

The Head Librarian has recently determined that the Shambling Horde in Stanbury Village has a long-overdue copy of The Waste Land by T. S. Eliot. The Committee has dispatched several Librarians to recover it and collect the fine. |
