Zombie Hunter
Suggestion description
This is bought under Headshot. What you do is instead of attacking the head of a zombie and waste its AP, you attempt to wound the Zombie in the heart to cripple the zombie, and therefore, waste its future HP.
In that Preferences screen, you get to choose wheter you want Headshot or the new Crippling Shot whenever you kill a zombie. Headshot is set to default. If Crippling Shot is activated, you cripple the zombie by blowing it up with your shotgun or whatever you used to kill the zed.
Instead of losing 5 AP when a zombie stands up, the zombie loses 10 HP when they stand up.
This gives a new tactical reason for Zombie Hunters to ponder over what tactic is more effective. Some zombies (especially newbies) would love Crippling Shot...since HP is useless to them at the moment, while other veteran zombies would desire Headshot, as HP is useful in holding buildings. Hence, a Zombie Hunter must consider what tactic would be deveasting to the zombie horde as a whole. Plus, for zombies who get hit by Crippling Shot, then Digestion becomes quite useful for recovering the HP lost, which is also another boost. Hopefully, however, this will be implemented after a pro-zombie change.

- Keep - i find it reasonable --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 09:26, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep Interesting... --Seventythree 11:50, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep As a zombie player, I can think of very few scenarios where the "Crippling Shot" would not be my preferred choice over a Headshot. If people who bought Headshot want to hold back a bit, let them. 13:02, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep You're right, zombies do need a buff. Slayerofmuffins 14:11, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep Too all you people down in kill, HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO CLEAR 20 ZOMBIES OUT OF AN INFESTED BUILDING!!!?!?!?. thats 200 HP less you have to worry about. Another thing - A zombie has a good chance of recovering 8 or 12 HP using bite attacks with the AP it saved from not being headshot. Me - I would preffer my zombie got AP, not HP. Not "overpowered" or "useless" at all. wooty 17:12, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep - Sure, it sounds good. --Hhal 23:16, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep Hell yeah! Very usefull in a siege!
- Keep Great Idea - Downinflames 03:31, 18 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep - Agree with them ~m T! 03:44, 18 June 2007 (BST)
- keep best option likely to be acceptable to most players. My only niggle is that i think zeds should already stand up on less than full HP's! --Honestmistake 09:46, 19 June 2007 (BST)
- Heavy Keep - This is what headshot SHOULD have been when it was 1st implemented!! --Bruce Torbaron 02:18, 20 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep - Removing HP instead of AP is a far better deal for zombies characters. the HP number needs to be increased to have any effect and the rationale needs improving. But removing AP is a terrible mechanic. The survivors would have a benefit for using the skill as zombie breakings would be more often but less severe. And as real-time combat is rare the zombie would be able to do a full days worth of actions without being griefed. And digestion would become a tactical skill. This could lead to another tactical layer for zombies and survivors alike. A vast improvement over the current game.-- Vista +1 19:34, 28 June 2007 (BST)
- Keep/change a little bit - i think you should be able to shoot a zombies knee cap out or something like that in order to slow them down, like costing an extra AP to attack after every few shots of course i think that this should be implemented after the zombie swing. --Auronk 7:44 PM June 28, 2007
- Keep - Like it. --The Hierophant 14:05, 1 July 2007 (BST)
- Keep - I like it. The game could use more choices like this. --Ju Ju Master 22:31, 1 July 2007 (BST)
- Kill - Change of vote - this is a great change that would add another tactical layer to survivors trying to keep/retake a suburb. armareum 01:45, 2 July 2007 (BST)
Kill Votes
- Kill The reasoning behind this suggestion is poor. HP does not matter to a zombie no matter what. If a zombie is killed and dumped, he gets back up on bashes the 'cades down again. --User:Axe27/Sig 06:16, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Kill 1. Don't mess with peoples stand-up hp. 2. Worse than headshot by a lot. And 3. the amount of damage needed to make this a good ability would severely break it.--karek 06:46, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Kill - i'd trade headshot for this in a flash, but making another grief for zombies isn't very fair. not to mention it wouldent be that effective of a tactic as zombies dont care about HP as much as AP. -Bullgod 11:33, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Kill - First off, It's a out of genre. zombies don't have an active heart, the only organ that actually works is the brain. Second, as Axe27 said, HP loss wouldn't really effect zombies too much. --Sonofagun18 11:40, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Kill - Essentially gives a boost in the amount of damage a weapon does, between 100% (doubles effectiveness of a shotgun), and 1,000% (for killing a zombie by punching them). The fact that the damage is applied after the zombie stands up does not matter. --Saluton 17:50, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Kill - I think everyone else summed up what I would'a said. Thoug the idea of a changeable Headshot sounds great, I think this idea would need a bit o' work before it could be used.-- dǝǝɥs oʇ ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 01:35, 18 June 2007 (BST)
- kill - not fair to zombie players user:androo the 2/sig 9:17 20 june 2007
- Kill -As several other kill voters.--AlexanderRM 17:20, 22 June 2007 (BST)
- Kill - As above, and I particularly agree with Sonofagun18 and Axe27. --Ryiis 19:40, 28 June 2007 (BST)
