Suggestion description
Currently percents for population - ratios - are taken with counting only the standing players. However, zombie population also includes zombies that are currently in Dead Bodies state and survivors - Revivifying Bodies. This shifts about 2K of people and often gets people confused about the real percentage.
Suggested change is taking percents (Standing Survivors+Revivifying Bodies)/Active Characters and (Standing Zombies+Dead Bodies)/Active Characters. This way it will be more reliable

Keep Votes
- Keep Might stop people whingeing about a 1% poulation shift.--Seventythree 09:24, 13 July 2007 (BST)
- Keep - No reason to kill this, but meh. --Magentaine 15:43, 13 July 2007 (BST)
- Keep - Makes sense and when I look at the stats I calculate it in my head anyway. A dead body will have to stand as a zombie eventually. And idling won't screw up the stats because it just hides their character after a week. --VinnyMendoza 2:08, 14 July 2007 (EST)
- Keep -Just about the only reliable use for the stats page is to know when to get those "The endgame is upon us!" signs out, and this will help with that. Anyway, most of the kill votes are more a reason to remove the stats page than to vote kill, and just about the only one that isn't appears to not realize that we are talking about TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PLAYERS. How many zombies can be killed/revived and how many survivors can be killed WILL, no matter how many people work together perfectly to kill/revive them, include the dead bodies by the time they all die/get revived.--AlexanderRM 00:30, 17 July 2007 (BST)
- Keep. I'd prefer that the numbers just had them all separately, but if we must combine them, then this seems like the best way to do it. Grant 15:14, 18 July 2007 (BST)
- KeepI like it ;)--Timo 1 11:08, 23 July 2007 (BST)
Kill Votes
- Kill Wouldn't solve anything, because those dead bodies are all dead survivors, and about half the zombies are just Mrh? cows anyway. But only If I play zombie. If I'm a survivor then I'd have to not only count all those zombies who are laying seige to my safehouse, but al those zombies I shot and dumped, not to forget that deathcultists, GKers and PKers shouldn't count for my side as well. In fact I'm pretty sure the correct numbers will prove that I'm the only real person on my side at all.(whatever that side is)-- Vista +1 15:32, 13 July 2007 (BST)
- RE Solve? Nobody is talking about solving anything. And you're wrong about dead bodies=dead survivors. Just for example - pile of bodies outside mall during sieges. or any other place where survivors are killing zombies and dumping them out. However, even if it's a dead survivor - dead body stands as zombie, it's part of current zombie population and that's the only thing that ratios show. It's not about counting "sides".--Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 16:51, 13 July 2007 (BST)
- RE - I wasn't serious but trying to be sarcastic. I've used all the common tricks people use to obfuscate the percentage so that they can argue that their side is worse off and needs a boost/or is persecuted. My kill vote is because it would be (almost) as unreliable as the current statistic and just as useless. Like it or not the percentage point statistic will always be used to count sides. And I'd rather have it clear that it's an useless number then give it false accuracy-- Vista +1 18:03, 13 July 2007 (BST)
- Re - i see how sarcasm can be aplied to people who rely on these numbers, but not what it has to do with suggestion --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 18:36, 14 July 2007 (BST)

- Kill - Vista has a point. And I actually think the current system is better than your suggestion. Your suggestion would count all idleing out dead players as part of the zombie 'side', which would boost zombie numbers unfairly. And all CRed zombies would be counted as the survivors 'side' (admittedly a very small percentage). The current way counts only active players at any one moment. If survivors manage to kill 1000 zombies in an hour, then I think the stats page should show this. 'arm. 03:39, 14 July 2007 (BST)
- Hell No We Won't Go, Do It For The Status Quo! -Although I like accuracy and don't agree with Vista's assessment. For the simple reason that it shows effective number at that point in time, and at that point in time Dead bodies don't have a use to anyone. Think of it as a how many zombies can be killed/revive and how many survivors can be killed/revived.--karek 03:40, 14 July 2007 (BST)
- Kill - Neh.-- dǝǝɥs oʇ ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 07:16, 14 July 2007 (BST)
- Kill - Most zombies fighting in seiges stay dead until the attack time, alot of dead bodies want to be survivors...counting everything would mess it up rather than clarify it.--Wooty 17:57, 14 July 2007 (BST)
- Re - it's not about what they want, it's about what they are. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 18:36, 14 July 2007 (BST)

- Kill - the suggestion doesn't clarify much at all, sadly. as has been said, what % of dead bodies are survivors vs. zombies? how many zombies are Mrh? Cows? etc etc. leave it as it is... --WanYao 05:18, 22 July 2007 (BST) 00:17 22 July 2007
- why does it matter? you're missing the whole point, it's not about counting sides. if they're right now in zombie form - they are in zombie form and that's it. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 10:46, 22 July 2007 (BST)
