20130328 Voice Recognition/Radio

PayneTrain 05:18, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Suggestion type
communication

Suggestion scope
everyone

Suggestion description
OK,guess i messed up last time i gave the suggestion,ok here's the suggestion again but now it works for everyone, zombies, humans and even dead bodies(don't want a kill vote from them either:))ok here's the suggestion:-

If you have someone on your contact lists and you hear them over the radio the game tells you who it is(if you have them on your contacts list). This would enable easier communication and maybe even actual chatting between players through the radio, rather than calling out random crap and spam through it.this would help teams to be more strategic and would help to have more secure frequencies.....it would come out as 25.92 MHz:"This suggestion is awesome,booyah!!!"(1 hour ago) you recognize it as being the voice of Paynetrain

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - I'm a huge fan of this idea. Feeding Groan has had the ability to recognize "familiar" voices since 2006, so it's kinda ludicrous that survivors can't do so via the radio. Not to mention that both Feeding Groan and Bellow have the built-in advantage of always being truthful (i.e. you can't groan or bellow when there are no survivors present), so it's surprising that survivors lack anything similar. This change both makes sense and also makes things more fun. Aichon 16:32, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
  2. Keep This is a good idea. I think that it is possible for someone to recognize the voice of someone they know over the chatter and static of a radio. Lpha 16:33, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
  3. Keep obviously I'm gonna vote keep.--PayneTrain 06:01, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
  4. Keep- I think this would be a good idea, "you hear a familar voice on the radio, it sounds like [insert name]" --Founder7 16:01, 31 March 2013 (BST)
  5. Keep - As Aichon --AORDMOPRI ! T 14:46, 2 April 2013 (BST)
  6. Keep - It's a joke that this isn't already in the game A ZOMBIE ANT 07:52, 4 April 2013 (BST)
  7. Keep While I don't think Feeding Groan and Bellow are much of an advantage, I do think this allows long distance communication between friendly survivors to be more entertaining and will increase the fun of playing survivors and do almost nothing to affect game balance. --Zarak Goldleaf 19:07, 5 April 2013 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. As before. I think anonymity creates more room for better gameplay than removing it would. Nothing to be done! 06:12, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
  2. Anonymity is the price you pay for being able to broadcast to everyone (who is tuned to your frequency) in the whole city. Without this, radios become overpowered -- boxy 07:35, 28 March 2013 (BST)
  3. as above.--User:Sexualharrison21:27, 28 March 2013
re to all three of the above postsit doesn't really remove anonymity as a whole,it's only a problem if you have them on your contacts list.....--PayneTrain 06:14, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
so than all my victims know that it's me mocking them on the radio? no thanks.--User:Sexualharrison22:35, 30 March 2013
Was well aware of that, still doesn't change my vote or rationale. Nothing to be done! 23:21, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
  4. Similar to part 1 of Peer Reviewed skill Smooth Operator, but not enough to be a dupe (and not as good), so voting Kill. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 02:29, 5 April 2013 (BST)
  5. I think it would over nerfed the radio transmitter. Rupert Lang 17:54, 9 April 2013 (BST)
  6. I say my name when I want people to know it's me. Otherwise, I'd rather you didn't know. Because.--SarahSig.png 20:31, 9 April 2013 (BST)
