Like a Flare for Zombies

Description: In the interest of giving zombies more choices when attacking, I was thinking perhaps some attack along the lines of "flare" could be added. And in relating it to flares, I mean that it would have a high damage and low chance to hit. One idea I was kicking around is something like this: a zombie can attack any survivor with 15 hp or less left with a "brain lunge", which would have a 15% ) chance of hitting with the text "You lunge at Player X's head, crushing their skull and feasting on their brain." Feedback on text, chance to hit, damage, and similar ideas with the same goal would be appreciated.

Edit: To incorporate your feedback so far, this would be a skill under the bite tree. It could only be used on a survivor with 10hp or less, and deals 10 damage with a 15% chance to hit. Also, feedback on the name for the skill and the attack. --PdeqTalk* 23:15, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Discussion (Like a Flare for Zombies)

I tried this recently, its a hard one. Whats the damage etc? Or is it just the same as flare gun? And i think it will be crushed down. Flare guns are funny, but people cant use them all the time. Whats the AP cost?--RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:44, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

This wouldn't be an accuracy boost. It would be a damage boost that would only be useful if say you have 1ap left and have almost killed a survivor. A lucky zombie would then be able to make the kill. --PdeqTalk* 23:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. I'd actually like to see something like this with a low chance to hit but actually lets them "eat people's brains." I say make it a skill (under the bite tree) and require that they establish a tangling grasp on the person before the option appears. --Uncle Bill 16:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

In fact, you might also want to make it a "finishing blow." If it does 10 damage (or whatever number you propose), then the survivor has to be at 10 or less HP. --Uncle Bill 16:17, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

That would be a lot like a low accuracy version if defenestration that could be used in any location. It might pass if it had a very good flavor. The problem in general is finding a flavor-appropriate way for zombies to do high damage. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 17:19, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
How do you feel about the flavor on this one (that is, on crushing a human's skull and feasting on their brain)? Um, "You lunge at Player X's head, crushing their skull and feasting on their brain" sound really painful. How bout "You lunge at Player X, biting thier head"?And could we set the damage needed to use this move to 10Hp, instead of 15Hp?--GunFox13 20:33, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

How about the idea I put in the above "Pick up Rubble" section; basically a very high encumbrance one shot weapon with high damge / moderate hit rate, that zombies can "search" for by using "ransack" in a ruined building. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 17:47, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
