Editing Problems

I took down that story I did about the zerging thing on the part of someone in the News Team. It's a few months old and I figure it's no longer important. Anyway, I also took down the link on your page (just the link), figuring it would be broken with the story no longer there. Sonny Corleone from the RRF seems to have a bone to pick with me, so he reported it as vandalism and the changes were reverted. I talked to the mods, it's no big deal- but, since I don't have a long legalistic knowledge of wiki-law, I figure I'll leave it up to you guys to change your link as you see fit (it's the one from the news the 29th of May). Wouldn't want to give that vindictive bastard anything to flip out about, you know? Either way, there you have it. I don't mind if you keep the story up- hell, I did for a month and a half! The full copy of my public statement is still in the Channel 4 News Team wiki page history, right at the bottom of this update thingamajig here, if you're interested in saving it. MLF Part II

Just so you guys know how that worked out (if you care), it turned out that a couple of crazies were responsable. The group has since disbanded due to some internal revolts, and anyone who cared for the idea of groups afterwords joined up with the Freedom Fighters. It was quite the drama. Anyway, we assure you that anyone who had anything to do with that mess is gone, and that we hope to treat you all with the respect you deserve.

Cpt. Cole, Freedom Fighters Rep.

MLF

It seems some group of would-be PKers called the Malton Liberation Force claims that they will hit Ackland on the 10th and try to eliminate the C4NT in response to C4NT's "oppression"

2 things: 1) Apologies in advance if such an event cheapens what has been up to this point, as far as I have seen, on of the classiest (by the standard of mall sieges, anyhow) contests I've seen so far. (It's an interesting juxtaposition, being more impressed with the comportment of the undead than some of the living)

2) What do you fellows make of all this?

Feel free to message me back on my talk page, the Ranger wiki or on the C4NT/Ranger forum.

I've never heard of them till today and to be honest I suspect that they're a tiny group. The Abattoir has no problem with death cultists being in the area but, as with the DOA, we won't be working with them and we don't want any spy information from them. This is because spying against abattoir law but also because we've had no problem finding people just by breaking in as zombies. If you're in the Ackland area we're bound to break into your building sooner or later and if you're somewhere else then you're not our problem.
In the unlikely event that the MLF is around when tastier targets aren't then we'll happily eat their brains. --Davedavinson 14:43, 2 June 2006 (BST)

I suspect we'll ride this one out just fine - I really don't think these fellows understood the size and the unity of the coalition of groups they'll be taking on - the cute part now is that they're trying to negotiate. :)

Anyway - thanks for being such classy foes! (If I ever get bored of this whole living gig, I'll drop you guys a line). --Major Grippy 19:43, 2 June 2006 (BST)

Old Discussions

Helpful people with Helpful Suggestions

Hey, this is ShadowScope. I like the idea of you guys trying to seize the Ackland Mall! Keep up the good work. I won't be able to join your group, and I can't sign up an account at desensitised, but I have some ideas you can use to hopefully help your group out.

I was thinking about using death cultists to help secure the area. On the topics, you discussed the DoA of helping you take over Ackland. Death cultists could use the mall to gather weapons needed to take out those haramnz, or weaken them enough so that you guys could then eat their brains. The Cultists could also use those FAKs to heal nearby zombies, helping you to grow stronger, though I could see that of being of little use since zombies could die anyway. Proberly could save a day of headshotting.

I'm also thinking about having a barricade policy. Death Cultists could barricade the Mall and all entry points of the mall to EHB. This way, NOBODY can free-run in, search for goodies, and then free-run out. The only way for the harmanaz to occupy the mall is to attack the barricade themselves...which would be VERY funny, and ironic indeed. Zombies could stay inside the mall, waiting for the haramanz to enter into the Mall, so they can eat their brains, though prehaps it may be funner for the zombies to be more mobile, outside of the mall so they can grab the "fast food"? The zombies won't be trapped in the mall if it is EHB, they can easily hop out, though they won't be able to go back in.

Death Cultists are humans that sympathize with the zombies. Since Humans are well-suited for a seige, having the Death Cultists provide barricades and "de-reviving" points while the zombies go and be the "heavy artillery" that take out the harmanaz...this team would be unstoppable. If it works, could this idea be copied, and can we secure other malls?

I might form an alt. character to assist in the Abattoir, though I don't know for certain if I would have time. Good luck anyway, and I hope these little ideas may help you out.

EDIT: I have just seen that you have banned the use of "human spies". My bad for suggesting the idea without knowing you might reject it. I don't consider Death Cultists human spies, but some do, and I'm sorry if you belong to that camp. I do not talk about spying on the humans, but rather using human skills agains the Humans. I still support your crusade against those haramanz. May the brain-eating be merry!--ShadowScope 03:05, 17 April 2006 (BST)

FYI, ShadowScope, it's DOA, not DoA. ;) Also, Stare, "spying" of any sort can't get you banned from the game. You're welcome to play how you like, of course, but that's not really a valid reason for that. Wanting to play "clean", sure, they're your rules, you can make them what you like, it won't get you banned.. --Vanankyte 09:54, 17 April 2006 (BST)

Thank you both for raising these points. ShadowScope and Vanankyte, if you wanna stay in Havercroft and blow away survivors and barricade mall entraces, that's awesome. It will make our job a lot easier. Just know that official Abattoir members play solely as zombies and kill all Havercroft survivors. But we only do this so that when we kill survivors, they won't be able to go "WAH WAH WAH ZOMBIE SPIES." But yea, zombie spying/death culting is not cheating nor faggotry, so I will now make that distinction in Abattoir Law. Also, yea, the DoA did help take out Ackland, I mentioned that earlier in the forums, i just forgot to put it in the wiki. It's hard work assembling a hoard out of nothing! : P --Stare 01:41, 18 April 2006 (BST)

Good policy for this horde, in my opinion. :) I actually have nothing against death cultists, etc, because, well, it's a game; play however is fun for you. However, I think it's inspiring to note that the RRF secured Ridleybank by shear brain-munching force. Resorting to using human skills to defeat humans just doesn't have the same pure-brain-oozing-warm-fuzzy goodness. We can take the suburb by just being our wonderful zombie selves. *bounce* Avoiding trenchcoat whinging also a plus. Studies conclusively show that trenchcoat whinging causes nosebleeds, IQ reduction and migraines. Star 15:16, 18 April 2006 (BST)
I can deal with nosebleeds and migraines, but IQ reduction is bad. Very bad indeed. I agree with the horde's policy, to hopefully stave out trenchcoaters' whining. Anyway, I started up a human character that will be a zombie spy, slowly gaining the EXP needed to help out the Mall. After all, this is our Caiger. Zombiedom has to unite, like Suriviors has to unite. I also decided to start up a diary on my death cultist, to see if I can increase the repuation of death cultists, and make them a bit more acceptable: I used the name Judas McZombiespy in the diary, altough that is not the real name of the death cultist...can't get myself on PK lists this early.--ShadowScope 04:42, 19 April 2006 (BST)

Barricade Policy

This is just a suggestion by me on a barricade policy for the Ackland Mall, in case suriviors, for some strange reason, want to resist against getting their brain eaten, and try to take back the Mall. I would like you, Stare, the organinzer of the Horde to approve, decline, or make suggestions for the barricade policy.

Basically, we need to barricade the outlying buildings outside of the Mall to EHB, and any buildings that connect to the outside buildings near the Mall. This way, nobody can free-run in and steal your precious mall goodies. Getting rid of an entry point will, at worst, take some AP from suriviors who want to restart the entry point (by smashing the barricades), and at best, would force suriviors to enter the Mall by walking in normally, going through the huge horde of feral zombies stationed at the mall...making easy snacks.

I will, hopefully, arrive there to barricade the area. If any other death cultists would like to do it, then please do. Of course, I know that if I walk in, I may walk out as a zombie, due to the equal "eat everyone" policy. That is okay.

I do hope, however, that no zombies will begin to attack the over-barricaded buildings. Doing so will weaken the barricades, and help out the suriviors. Plus, nobody will be in these over-barricaded buildings, so AP will be wasted.

If I have any other ideas, I may think about adding them to the Barricade Policy as well. So, do you agree?--ShadowScope 18:58, 22 April 2006 (BST)

Although this barricading strategy for the mall is on paper a good idea, the only problem is that it goes against our overall credo of keeping it simple. For the ferals of the Abattoir that don't look at the forums, they would not know the special status of the barricades, so we would have to make special arrangements to contact them. This sounds like an unhealthy contradition to our montra of keeping it simple. If you and your death cultist friends want to operate your own anti-survivor barricade ring around Ackland, by all means do it. But the Abattoir will not help in any particular way to maintain it, just exploit it.--Stare 16:02, 23 April 2006 (BST)

Strike Teams?

In the current siege situation striking together at particular time would make us a lot more effective. Possibly organised through PM's on desensitised? Channel 4 news are too sharp to miss anything publically organised. -- Davedavinson 18:16, 5 May 2006 (BST)

I agree Dave. However, our loose organisation means reaching every member could present a problem. I could post a message in our recruitment or activity threads, asking every member to PM one person so we can build a half-decent mailing list. Anyone got any opinions on who that one person should be? Catriona McM 14:54, 6 May 2006 (BST)

A volunteer would be best really. As I do quite a lot of extra stuff in the RRF with another character I'm not amazingly eager to put myself forward on this one. What I can do, if we have sufficent interest is see about getting us our own horde area on the RRF boards. That would provide a good space for discussions and make organisation easier in general. -- Davedavinson 11:43, 7 May 2006 (BST)

I've PMed Stare to run my roster idea past him. The idea of an RRF board sounds great, you should post a message on our activity thread to see if anyone else goes for it. Catriona McM 22:04, 7 May 2006 (BST)

What happened to you so-called Zombie Pride?

Seriously Sorrowstare is inside the Blackmore building as a survivor and he destroyed 1 generator so far and will probably PK a few of us Bastards as soon as his AP refills. I though you guys were not gonna pull this and just stick to being zombies and not some asswhole Pking Deathcultist.
