Talk:Clothes Codes
Ripping Clothing
I believe you can rip your clothing by falling off of buildings. Just thought I'd mention it. CITIZEN VI 21:52, 2 June 2009 (BST)
Data
Everybody welcome to add raw data examples in the end to figure things out... --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 10:13, 28 June 2007 (BST)
- Do we want a list of codes for all known clothing? —Revenant talk 15:44, 28 June 2007 (BST)
- No, the lists of codes for
allmost known closes already exist, check specific clothes pages, like Clothes/Head --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 17:00, 28 June 2007 (BST)
- No, the lists of codes for
- Ah-HA! Just noticed that the codes for ripped and scratched are the same. This is good: it means that they correspond to the same state (slightly damaged) on different types of clothing. I'm predicting that scuffed will likely be the same as both of these, that blood-smeared will be the same as blood-soaked, and that the next levels will correspond, too. —Revenant talk 15:51, 28 June 2007 (BST)
- Well, looks like I was right on "blood-soaked" and "blood-smeared"... I'm thinking of reorganising that table, possibly into 2 or more, just to show the way that different names and combinations work. Obviously we still need more data, but my survivor is extraordinarily tasty at the moment (I think he picked up some barbecue sauce), so I'm getting plenty of data. —Revenant talk 05:52, 9 July 2007 (BST)
- reorganising is a great idea. I'll make some changes now --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 10:41, 9 July 2007 (BST)

- I'd rather I hadn't, but I have gained more damage data and added it. I'm pretty sure I read it properly this time, too. :) —Revenant talk 05:36, 4 July 2007 (BST)
Spare spaces for some of the clothes
...Gas masks in particular. It's not my invention - there really are 2 spaces in there --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 20:51, 16 July 2007 (BST)
Damaging - clothing groups
Just thoughts. Ripped medical facemask in raw data makes me think that facemasks are also fabric. If this is true then clothing groups are not depending from slots at all. In that case it'd be also interesting to see how leather jackets/coats behave and how recently added plastic coats do... (the ones originally called "a clear plastic raincoat", code "tprc", found in Malls) --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 18:09, 21 July 2007 (BST)
- Mmm, I've just come to the same conclusion. I've tentatively re-labelled two categories "Hard/Brittle" and "Hard/Strong" – I left "Fabric" unchanged. Fortuitously, I'm also wearing full leathers and a clear plastic raincoat on my survivor, who has just been revived and is currently defending a Mall, with every prospect of more clothing damage. ;) So far these clothes seem to be pretty durable, with various levels of blood being the only damage so far. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 18:57, 21 July 2007 (BST)
- bloodstained clear plastic raincoat sounds funny. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 22:23, 21 July 2007 (BST)
Blood-smeared and hard/brittle
looks like bloodstained and blood-soaked are both equal to blood-smeared for hard/brittle. i wonder if we could get "c" hard/brittle to check if it would be "blood-smeared" as "b" --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 23:20, 27 July 2007 (BST)

rag
what was it before degradating? --~~~~ [talk] 20:21, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- The person who submitted it wasn't sure. Something from one of the forts, no doubt... in fact, I might try to match up what we have with existing items. Wonder if we should ask Swiers what the code for his "famous" brown rag is? ;) ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 12:00, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Looking at both their profile and the clothing codes, I'd say it started life as a camouflage jacket (cmjt). ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 12:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Clothes Types
Can Clothes Types be added to the specific clothes pages, to be alongside their code, with a link at the top saying: Type. This would serve to make this page better known and so (hopefully) make the damage chart more complete when people saw that it wasn't finished just so soon. --xensyriaT 17:30, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- There are already links to this page there - words "Code" in the headers. As for marking types... Well, as you can see, we found them out empirical and there's no easy method to tell for each item what it's type is. It took me about 2 months of travelling with 2 characters to fill all clothes codes (well taking in account that they were added in the process), so checking out how each clothing specimen damages... But it is a good intention anyway. p.s. strange that this page isn't in navigation template. i'll fix this --~~~~ [talk] 18:37, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Controlled environment
The experiment has taken place in a specially prepared research lab. The volunteer was connected to a life-supprting system and exposed to a hungry virus-infected specie (so-called zombie). During the experiment the zombie was trying to tear the volunteer while his health was restored by the system. The zombie landed 37 claw hits (22 of which where while zombie had a good grasp at the volunteer) and 5 bites (all with grasp) without visible damage to volunteer's clothes. However the next claw attack that dropped voluntter to 39 HP damaged volunteer's clothes (a ripped clear plastic raincoat, a chipped pendant necklace), it was done with tangling grasp that zombie acquired 5 hits earlier when it grabbed hold of volunteer's black leather jacket. Thereafter zombie continued to claw the volunteer, now with life-supporting system off. Upon vlounteers death (13 claw hits later) there appeared blood on his clothes: (a blood-flecked fireman's helmet, a bloodstained white T-shirt, a blood-flecked pair of black leather trousers). fuel soaked
It appears that "s" is the code for fuel soaked, at least with shirts. Looks like a new study is in order lol--Dragon fang 09:37, 30 May 2008 (BST)
