Net

Timestamp: Fuster 03:12, 18 April 2007 (BST)
Type: Weapon
Scope: All players
Description: The net is a single use item found in the zoo. A successful net attack prevents a netted zombie or survivor from moving or attacking until the player breaks free with a successful barrier attack.
Edit:''1%? chance to find in zoo; accuracy 30% (does not benefit from training); no damage caused; resistance to damage equivalent to barricade of strength one against human and zombie attacks (except bonus for knife not crowbar); prevents movement and attacks by target but target may still speak and groan; encumbrance 10%. The purpose is to slow an attacking zombie down and give an opportunity to e.g. rebarricade before turning back to attacking the netted zombie. Could also be used by bounty hunters to slow down escaping targets.

Keep Votes
No for votes when suggested but some interest and lots of requests for detail. Please discuss more detailed description below.
Kill Votes

  1. Kill Way too little detail and a shaky suggestion to begin with. --Heretic144 03:57, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill Overpowering. You can withdraw it yourself and resubmit later. Copy this to the talk page for discussion, and leave a heading, and a message that you withdrew on this page though -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 04:11, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill I don't see the point of doing this. You want to throw the zombies out of the building, since they prevent you from repairing it. Why would you want to immobilize a zombie?--Bluish wolf 04:15, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - Please move to talk:suggestions and develop it there. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 09:36, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Sounds interesting, but it needs more details. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 13:43, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  6. Incomplete - How do they get out? Is it time-based, or does the victim get the option to attempt to free themselves (and if so, is it a % chance or a single fixed AP cost?)? You also haven't specified search rates, encumbrance, or accuracy for this net. And what the heck do you mean by "barrier attack"? Get all that straightened out and this might be considering. --Reaper with no name TJ! 15:48, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - This suggestion has some merit it just needs some more work. As mentioned above, submit it on the talk page and get some input on it. --Gm0n3y 20:31, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill Not planned well enougth. Would net throwing be a new skill?--Seventythree 22:47, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  9. I like it, but change the stuff so that there's training. It won't make it into the game. Too left field. --Peterblue 01:38, 21 April 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam Um, get enough players with these and we can take a horde down, and that unbalances the game in to much human favour, so no.--Darkmagic 03:16, 18 April 2007 (BST)
Re Not really likely to cause unbalance: it's single use and found at one location only, it causes no damage and its effect is negated by a single successful barrier attack. It's not going to take a horde down although it could slow it down a little. - Fuster 03:29, 18 April 2007 (BST)
RE Take 100 people with this, and then throw them, at 90 zed horde, guess who loses.--Darkmagic 03:33, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - First time spamming, but I think this is what it's for. Even if general idea is good for consideration, the format isn't good enough. New weapons require locations in which they are found, what are the chances to hit, what bonuses they get from skills, chance to hit, and a detailed description to what they do, etc. --Storyteller 03:17, 18 April 2007 (BST)
Re - The location is there in the post already. Am I allowed to edit the original post to flesh out it out with the extra information you want or is that not allowed once I've posted? It might be better if someone could rework and repost if it sounds interesting because I don't really understand the percentages. - Fuster 03:33, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - No. No disabling attacks. Leave that to runescape. Mattiator 03:47, 18 April 2007 (BST)
Re - What is Headshot? -Fuster 03:59, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  4. Incomplete Hit percentage? Search rate? Effect (ill defined, as I read it)? Encumberance?--Pesatyel 07:29, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  5. spam - headshot isn't a fair comparison - it's there to balance up the fact that zombie's don't care so much about being killed - and the relatively massive AP cost of a survivor going from death to zombie-dom to survivor again. As for your suggestion - it's incomplete and would be REALLY annoying. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 09:21, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  6. As all spam and kill votes above me. --Axe Hack Talk 13:26, 18 April 2007 (BST)
  7. Incomplete - Even if I did agree with this, and I don't, it's not fully there for consideration. There are no hit percentages given, no encumbrance for the item, no find rate, etc. --Mold 19:02, 18 April 2007 (BST)
