Talk:Tollyton Barricade Plan

So what is it?

Is there a new plan? It would be nice if there was a map of the new plan seeing like 90% of the suburb danger map is red. Tollyton is part of the SSZ and it would be helpful if people knew where to go. --MoodieTalk Contributions 13:10, 19 May 2011 (BST)

Discussion about new plan

July 5, 2010 - A trenchcoater has been spraypainting "Revives inside Rayfield" all over Tollyton. This is contrary to the suburb's Barricade policy, leading to a steady presence of zombies inside Tollyton's only NT facility and preventing it's repair. Any such messages found should be replaced with directions to Errington Crescent, Tollyton's true Revive Point.

Discussion leading to current plan

too many vsb

There a LOT of VSB buildings in the suburb. Do we really need THAT many entry points into places? I've been staying in a building in the suburb that's been at EHB for months and months and now all of a sudden we're at VSB. While the building could be used as an entry point, there are at least 4 other buildings that serve the same purpose and many ways to enter a building to free run into the mall. Do we need 33 VSB buildings? Doesn't that mess up the ratio set by the UBP?--Tosca 17:40, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

If you want to talk about certain building - name it please. the reason of many VSBs is newbie-friendly resource-points. i'm more used to barricade plans being all over-EHBed where a new player without free run cannot actually do anything usefull. Why do you really need heavy cades? are zombies breaking in frequently? --~~~~ [talk] 20:59, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, that and it's pretty AP inefficient to go over VSB. --Karekmaps?! 23:34, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't seem to matter. They're all EHB anyways. Even the EPs. --Secruss 18:45, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I strongly recommend changing the BP towards a higher level of UBP-compliance, starting with a higher number of EHB buildings. Reasons:
1) EHB (decreasing the number of breakins in a given time) got more important with each of the last upgrades.
2) Non-freerunners do not need long-term support. They only need the chance to level fast in order to get freerunning.
Therefore, you don't need 2/3 of the buildings VSB as non-freerunner safehouses.
My concept is to have any Police Department, Firestation and Hospital at VSB in order to provide non-freerunners with the most important items that are required to level: FAKs, guns and fireaxes. DNA Extractors would be nice too, but NTs are too important to get weakened and DNA Extractors are starter items for NecroTech Lab Assistants anyway.
Additional VSB buildings may be needed as entry points (EPs), or - in rare occasions - as VSB safehouses that are low-profile targets and as such give the opportunity for non-freerunners to sleep safely after using nearby VSB TRPs (which are usually higher-profile targets).
Here is what I suggest:
[67,60] a junkyard: VSB -> EHB - EPs left and right, no important items.
[69,60] Paskin Square Fire Station: VSB -> EHB - there are 3 adjacent Firestations. No one needs more than 1 at once.
[60,61] the Bryant Building: VSB -> EHB - Why VSB? There is a VSB hospital south and the only adjacent building without another EP is [59,60] Chalderwood Bank. 2 hospitals to choose from when entering.
[65,61] Coy Cinema: VSB -> EHB - EP 1 north.
[67,61] Godwin Square School: VSB -> EHB - Similar to Bryant: The only building without another EP would be a [66,62] warehouse. UBP suggests VSB on schools, but they contain nothing important. Could stay VSB.
[65,62] a warehouse: VSB -> EHB - EP south.
[65,63] St Joachim's Hospital: VSB -> EHB - There are enough other (VSB) hospitals to choose from. EHB makes this a better healing station in Mall sieges. Could stay VSB.
[68,63] the Sequeira Motel: VSB -> EHB - surrounded by 6 streets. No need for an EP 6 times.
[61,64] a factory: VSB -> EHB - Factories need EHB. Newbies need XP not generators.
[64,64] the Prangnell Arms: VSB -> EHB - Why not EHB?
[65,64] Tavener Library: EHB -> VSB - To make up for other changes, this could be a VSB low-priority safehouse in direct neighbourhood to a hospital and a fire station.
[66,64] the Pearson Building: VSB -> EHB - hospital 1 S is EP.
[67,64] Diaper Library: VSB -> EHB - hospital 1 SW is EP.
[63,65] a warehouse: VSB -> EHB - EPs all around.
[68,65] Collis Towers: VSB -> EHB - surrounded by 6 streets. No need for an EP 6 times.
[61,67] Keys Cinema: VSB -> EHB - EP north and south, only 1 factory needs this EP. With freerunning, you can reach that from several directions though.
[64,67] Reeves Bank: VSB -> EHB - EPs north and south.
[68,68] the Ferguson Arms: VSB -> EHB - Why not EHB?.
With all suggestions implemented, there would be 35 EHB and 17 VSB buildings, which was just enough EHB for UBP compliance (EHB:VSB should be between 3:1 and 2:1, is currently less than 1:2 and would just become 2:1).
With so many changes, a picture might help to present the result more clearly:

Input welcome, will update the BP within 1 week if no complaints come up. --Paul Power 03:34, 6 July 2008 (BST)
I'm all for it. I really appreciate the time you put into that. --Benigno SSZ RCC 08:00, 7 July 2008 (BST)

Created new template, moved all discussion to this page and made this version official. Now spraying the new cade levels to interior walls, please help maintaning them. I'll use this pattern to combine cade info with more popular content: EHB - DEM suggests to attach slogan or ad here --Paul Power 20:53, 27 July 2008 (BST)

Recent Changes to the Barricade Plan

These are a list of the recent changes we've made to the Tollyton Barricade Plan. Feel free to discuss any concerns. These concerns were brought forth by Dathgale, and have my approval as well.

Sears Auto Repair 2S1W of the SW corner of Woodroffe changed from VSB to EHB. It's the only building of its type in the suburb, and it is the best fuel source.

The factory 1SW of the Sears Auto Repair also changed from VSB to EHB. It'll make one more hard target for the zombies to smash through. There's another factory at VSB 1N of the auto repair for non-free runners.

The Sherren Building 2S1E of the SE corner of Woodroffe changed from EHB to VSB because it is on the non-free running lane leading to the Rayfield NT's entry point, the Lake Street Fire Station. We need the buildings on the non-free running lane to be entry points because the free running lane to Rayfield is 3 times as long as moving outside.

When complete, the map below will be removed in the interest of space. Tollyton does not have an official barricade plan and, since it comprises the south of the SSZ, it desperately needs one. Please leave any comments below. I tried to do as much research as possible but if changes need to be made let me know! --Benigno SSZ RCC 14:38, 1 April 2007 (BST)

what about level of cades in junkyards? --Duke Garland 10:56, 2 April 2007 (BST)

I forgot you can cade those. I suggest VSB due to the large amount of items that can be found there. --Benigno SSZ RCC 12:17, 2 April 2007 (BST)
yeah, junkyards are missing on ssz map of other suburbs as well. i wrote about this somewhere when did my free running map --Duke Garland 13:48, 2 April 2007 (BST)
moved the map to the main page. --Benigno SSZ RCC 21:58, 5 April 2007 (BST)
I'm removing this plan from the list of UBPs, since it has far too few EHB buildings to meet the criteria. You might want to consider making some of the junkyards EHB - while they have valuable resources, they are very vulnerable to break-ins because they lack doors. -- Suli 26.May.2007
Ok, that's cool. Thanks for the tip! I'll review the plan and make some changes soon. --Benigno SSZ RCC 22:40, 27 May 2007 (BST)
