The Baillie Hotel

Description

The Baillie Hotel is a small hotel situated in the suburb of Ruddlebank.

History

The Baillie Hotel was started by George Baillie in 1983, after Baillie retired from the news industry. The small hotel was known for its high standards and Baillie himself greeted many guests. The staff upheld strict standards on cleanliness and friendliness and many people, including Malton's previous mayor, claimed it was their favorite place to stay. Mr. Baillie personally oversaw nearly all details with his own room and office both located on the top floor. He was known to be on friendly terms with many of the police officers stationed at the two nearby stations, with routine patrols dropping by to check in on the hotel. One can resonably assume that frequent police presence had the effect of greatly reducing crime in the immediate area.

However, the overall fact that the hotel was considered somewhat small often dissuaded tourists, as many preferred to stay at the roomier Rabjohns Hotel, a well-known economy hotel chain. As Baillie's income dwindled over the years, he was finally forced to go out of business and moved out of the country just one month before the outbreaks known today as the "Malton Incident".

The hotel is now an excellent safehouse, as it is near to both a NecroTech facility and Tompson Mall, in addition to the two police departments just to the north.

Barricade Policy

Barricades should be kept at Extremely Heavily at all times. The true purpose of this building is to serve as a heavily fortified shelter for members of the Dead vs Blue: S.W.E.E.P.Z. (a branch of Dead vs Blue stationed in far off Dulston), The Shadows of Hope, and any other locals that require safety from any outside dangers. Survivors found lowering the barricades without the approval of DvB:SWEEPZ may find themselves reprimanded or even attacked (if there is further evidence that they are a zombie spy).
