UDWiki talk:Voting
Excellent
I can think of a number of people who would benefit greatly from reading this article. Of course, many are going to violate one of your concepts and dismiss it purely because you wrote it (usually hiding this behind some fallacious reasoning) - or simply pretend to take it on board and continue on the way they have been. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 13:14, 8 October 2007 (BST)
As always you make some points but introduce your own personal experience and POV in too many parts. Sometimes I agree with what is written, and sometimes I can't avoid to realize that it's just a rant made by a butthurt user who can't still accept that his best attempt at reasoning got dumped by the community. Of course, it couldn't possibly be your reasoning's fault, but the community's that doesn't seem to understand how much would improve this wiki the simpliest of policies. - Id love to see where i referred to any ongoing discussion with the exception of the vote on the defenstration suggestion. With the sole exception of that, any similarity between whats written and any events that may or may not have happened is purely coincidental. However, i have to say that many sections, especially the ones i suspect you are referring to, are virtually impossible to word any differently so as to avoid any unintentional implication that its related to any events, past or present. You are, unfortunately, failing to see that in favour of perpetuating some ancient grudge, and using that to object to this. You have it in you to be a bigger person than that. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 14:19, 8 October 2007 (BST)
- Yet again Grim, you make me proud to call you my son. :P. Rant or not, this is quite good, and I admit that I have made a few irrelevant justifications on my votes. Voting only for the first kill vote has no real justification at all. :). And Matt....you spelled "simplest" wrong. ;).-- dǝǝɥs oʇ ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 15:36, 8 October 2007 (BST)
- SA, don't become a simple enforcer. No one likes those... except maybe the enforced ones XD. And thanks for the tip, it would certainly improve my English =).
- Grim, "purely coincidental"? No one believes that but yourself! After all the arguing you went through on your policy attempt, constantly mentioning how everyone voting against "did not read nor understood your policy", it's obvious that the policy discussion was cause and thus, this is effect. The Long and Short term section is probably entirely dedicated at the civility policy proposals made (and being made, mind you), but of course you'll make another big rant about how it's about that specific minor case from 2 years ago and not this more important one that got the section on. Also, you still fail to get a point through without borrowing from the asshole role and spraying insults all over the rant. That's exactly the reason that inspired my "a rant made by a butthurt user" comment, and not your supposed "ancient grudge".
- A final thing, totally unrelated to this specific rant's page you made but related to your respnse above: A person such as you that makes a sport of insulting people unnecessarily doesn't have a place in trying to prove who's the biggest or smallest person around. Your medical conditions, incluying stupidity or simple amnesia about having made poor roles in the past and trying to speak as if you really were the better person afterwards, are of no concern to me, and I won't be mentioning them on every discussion because, contrary to you, I usually try to prove a point and not attack the persons. Maybe I'll fail to make a solid point, mostly because of my limited English skills or simply lacking glibly, but I'll never be lacking a strong moral stand, much unlike you by the way. This is a thing I don't think you'll ever understand, so feel free to attack my argument as if you could prove me wrong at all. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 19:57, 10 October 2007 (BST)
- Matt, i was not aware that mind reading had become a mainstream infallable practice, and i was not aware that you were one of its practitioners. Actually, i think you are just bullshitting to make your opinion look like more peoples opinions without any justification in here to support it. Really is a pity that, like so much of what you do to try and get me, it is as painfully transparent as you yourself as a person are. The long and short term section also deals with policies being made to combat the content outside the main page areas, with the Combative External Links policy, and the Ban Review policvy, and the hate Spech policy, and the Demotion referendum policy, and the asshatery policy, and the User Signatures policy and the Vandal Banning to Misconduct for Mods policy. But no, it has to be about YOU because your ego wont let it be about anything else. Grow the fuck up.
- I honestly dont understand what you are talking about in your final paragraph matt. Maybe if you had had some examples in there, you could have both had a point and been somewhat legible. As it stands it looks to be like nothing but gibberish. From what i can pull out of it, it seems you think im not a good role model. Sysops are no role models. They are Janitors. Something which you forgot consistently in your breif tenure as one of us. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 22:20, 10 October 2007 (BST)
- And thus is the hypocrisy which has been lurking for so long juuust under the surface of the facade revealed. Good job on following the standards of civility you set for the rest of the wiki (particularly me, it would seem), Matt. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 22:39, 10 October 2007 (BST)

Fair enough, as long as it stays as a WikiRantings piece, and not a guide to voting linked to the suggestions page... it would make a good guide if you took out the few rants though -- boxy • talk • 15:26 8 October 2007 (BST)
- Could you perhaps point them out? --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 22:48, 8 October 2007 (BST)
- Mostly the introduction (and you put it in the ranting category. Why act surprised when you yourself categorised it as a rant?) -- boxy • talk • 09:38 10 October 2007 (BST)
- Im not, im more suprised that you think it could be useful as a guide if a few things were changed. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 11:46, 10 October 2007 (BST)
