Tangling Grasp Probabilities

Hi there buddy! I was looking at your Tangling Grasp hit calculations and I noticed a couple of things:

First, I think that you may have made a mistake for the probability of the Vigour Mortis + Tangling Grasp claw attack, which you list as 0.824857 Damage/AP and I calculated to be 0.812. No big deal though it'd be nice to correct it (and it'd just be plain cheeky to edit another user's page without at least mentioning it ;)

The other thing was that you didn't include the more obscure skill sets for bite (V.M. Death Grip and T.G., V.M. Rend Flesh and T.G. and V.M. Death Grip, Rend Flesh and T.G.) which include Death Grasp and or Rend Flesh without Neck Lurch. Obviously these are quite weird and you won't see them often (if at all) 'in the wild', but again, for completeness it would be nice to have 'em there anyhow.

As well as this, most (if not all) of the Damage per AP numbers seem to tend towards either an exact (with few decimal places) or a recurring decimal number. This would also be nice to display in the page - as an exact number rather than a rounded decimal.

Also, I've used these figures as average damage per AP values in the Unarmed Attacks page, and from them I've calculated average number of hits to kill a 50 HP and 60 HP enemy. Do you think that this is accurate, or would it be more so to use the values where A (using your notation) = 50 and 60 respectively?

Finally, I think that this stuff should go on it's own page under Tangling Grasp, along with things like flavour text etc. I'd be prepared to do this myself, but I thought I'd better run it by you first as the pioneer of this stuff.

Here are my calculations of all of the numbers:

Bites

Vigour Mortis and Tangling Grasp: 0.95 (19/20)

Vigour Mortis, Neck Lurch and Tangling Grasp: 1.1...846153... (77/65)

Vigour Mortis, Death Grip and Tangling Grasp: 1.1176470588235294...1176470588235294... (19/17)

Vigour Mortis, Rend Flesh and Tangling Grasp: 1.125 (9/8)

Vigour Mortis, Neck Lurch, Death Grip and Tangling Grasp: 1.375 (11/8)

Vigour Mortis, Neck Lurch, Rend Flesh and Tangling Grasp: 1.3...461538... (35/26)

Vigour Mortis, Death Grip, Rend Flesh and Tangling Grasp: 1.3...2352941176470588... (45/34)

Vigour Mortis, Neck Lurch, Death Grip, Rend Flesh and Tangling Grasp: 1.5625 (25/16)

Claws

Vigour Mortis and Tangling Grasp: 0.812 (203/250)

Vigour Mortis, Death Grip and Tangling Grasp: 1.142857...142857... (8/7)

Vigour Mortis, Rend Flesh and Tangling Grasp: 1.218 (609/500)

Vigour Mortis, Death Grip, Rend Flesh and Tangling Grasp: 1.714285...714285... (12/7)

Note that recurring is indicated by enclosing the recurring digits between two '...'s because there's no nice way to display a recurring in plain text that I know of ;) And I've also included the fractions as well :)--xensyriaT 14:29, 15 September 2007 (BST)

Radio Transmission Discussion

I moved your post from the Radio wiki entry to the discussion pages. I hope that is okay.

  • Hm? Okay... I just was trying to get you to notice the other side of the line, that giving out coords is almost suicidal. --wcil 18:22, 1 June 2006 (BST)

Thank you very much, i appreciate your concerns. I agree that there is a certain danger in giving out location information, we are never safe from PKers, whether they are inside a mall or listening to radio transmissions in their own little safehouse. Zombies , so far, can't tune in to radio transmissions, but they are the ones to fight in the first place. Radio Conduct will improve (a) identification of the broadcasting stations (b) it will give us an idea of how far transmissions can go, as of yet we do not know whether we can broadcast from the south western end of malton to the most northern suburbs (c) -and this is the most important argument- it will greatly benefit survivors working together, ie. during a zombie breach calling for reinforcements or to organize quick hit and runs in the neighborhood.

I am sure there will be a broad discussion about this issue soon and we will find out what works and what doesn't as we go along. A direct link to the discussion has been set on the Radio pages. --Sensodyne 19:22, 1 June 2006 (CET)

  • Actually, I have reason to believe that we can broadcast Malton wide. Well, I did broadcast from Penny Heights to Grigg Heights .... Heh --wcil 18:58, 1 June 2006 (BST)

  • Despite being excruciatingly boring, Siddhant does like a good poke with a stick, which at least provides him with some purpose.--Pooky Romero 14:36, 12 April 2006 (BST)
    • By boring, you mean business like. Like the business end of my claws that have feasted on the blood of hundreds of victims, as they got sliced up into blubbering goo..... Ahh yess... Errr.. Never mind :p --wcil 14:46, 12 April 2006 (BST)

Buncy Sez

Hah, thanks for the wellwishings. I am getting all 4 out, so yes, liquid diet for moi. In fact, 1 hr 20 mins till the procedure now! BuncyTheFrog Talk GBP 11:37, 13 April 2006 (BST)

Interesting...

I knew there was that limitation, I just didn't think anyone had the time or the inclination to do the maths. Bravo. –Xoid STFU! 11:07, 1 June 2006 (BST)

  • Heh, I was sorta bored, and it was a good intellectual exercise. I actually calculated it using excel, so once I figured out the formulae, it wasnt much of an effort. Thanks :) --wcil 11:17, 1 June 2006 (BST)
    • Saw your alterations. You mean you didn't do the other aspect of it? Whoopsie, I guess. So the numbers were slightly lower than everyone thought. That's the problem with a percentage based on a percentage based on a percentage, you always miss something. (Would've helped if I didn't skip most of the maths and went down to the conclusion.) –Xoid STFU! 12:42, 1 June 2006 (BST)
      • Nah, I assumed Tangling Grasp + Bite = 50%... It should be 40%. I've finished for all the other combinations, and am overhauling the hit % on the zombie page. --wcil 12:44, 1 June 2006 (BST)

huh?

Hits include

   * Any character action
   * Logging in and out
   * Refreshing the map.cgi page
         o In areas with 50 or more players, hitting [list player names] will count towards the limit since it refreshes map.cgi

but I realy don't know what you're referring to. Is it important?--Bulgakov 17:06, 14 June 2006 (BST)

Well, that settles it.--Bulgakov 14:53, 15 June 2006 (BST)
