Malls in Malton.
Mall
Malls are Malton's thriving temples of consumerism, continuously being looted for what they're worth. They provide many resources to survivors and are common targets for zombie hordes. MallsMalls are important tactical resource points as the only diminishable useful items that cannot be found in malls are revivification syringes and fuel cans, whilst the numerous others can be found with high rates of success. A survivor with Shopping and Bargain Hunting in a powered mall can quickly replenish almost any lost supplies in a day or so. Due to the importance of malls to survivor supplies, their general rarity and increased susceptibility to attack from being large buildings, they are high-profile targets for zombies. For this reason, malls are kept Extremely Heavily Barricaded almost without exception, thus requiring Free Running to enter. Adjacent buildings are therefore often designated as entry points on barricade plans. Malls also often provide ideal hunting grounds for PKers who revel in the anonymity that a crowd of survivors provides and the chaos that a single murder can provoke. All the malls in Malton are large buildings and barricaded as such. 18 of the 20 malls in Malton are 2x2 four-block squares. The two exceptions are Pole Mall in West Grayside (three squares) and Lumber Mall in Penny Heights (two squares). Ackland Mall is notable for containing a mobile phone mast in its north-east corner, it is the only large building to contain one. Mall-Specific SkillsThere are two mall-specific skills. The first of these is Shopping. This allows the survivor to select which store they wish to search when looking for supplies, greatly increasing the mall's usefulness. The second skill is Bargain Hunting, a child skill of Shopping, which gives survivors a +25% chance of finding something when searching a Mall. Current StatusThe status of Malton's malls are often reported to the wiki. Individual danger reports can be found at the Mall Information Center, and a graphical representation of these can be seen on the Mall Status Map. These reports are not guaranteed to be accurate.
