20070814 Specific Searching

ToastrlordT TSA 18:37, 14 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
New Skill
Suggestion scope
Survivors
Suggestion description
This skill, specific searching, can be bought for 100 xp under the civillian tree, with shopping prerequistite. It allows survivors to search specific parts of a building (if it has any areas useful to search) instead of the whole building, similar to searching a specific store in a mall. If the survivor chooses to search a specific room, it will cost 2 AP and only a generator bonus ( if present) will apply.

Keep Votes

Kill Votes

  1. Revise This sounds promising, but you need to offer more specifics.
  2. Could you clarify what the advantage of searching a specific room is? --  T   18:47, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill More buttons, and you really didn't give any reason or rewards for each area. Maybe take it to the talk page, but I frankly don't like the idea in general --Druuuuu 18:48, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - What's the benefit here? I'm not sure what this would accomplish. --the one, the only, sushiknight (talk contribs HARD E.N.D.) 18:52, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill/change Sure, search in rooms, but they're not going to be of any help. Clarify, maybe you can get certain items from rooms?
  6. KILL --Jack13 14:47, 14 August, 2007
  7. Revise - revise this and get back here. Sounds promising.--  Savant  Chit-Chat  21:07, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Incomplete - I want to vote Kill but there's just not enough here to vote down. Take it to discussion and fix it up so I can shoot it. --Mold 22:16, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill - At this point I'm going to re-read the suggestion guidelines... because I was pretty sure that a Spam vote was not a "strong kill". But I'm echoing the sentiment that this isn't a complete (or thought out) idea. Review the contructive comments and resubmit. - David Malfisto 22:23, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Change - I can see what you're getting at - sort of. But this needs to be fleshed out a lot more. Can you provide any specific examples? As others have said, take it to Talk:Suggestions first. Most people there are friendly, and may well have some good ideas to help you with this suggestion. -- Pavluk 23:11, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - Failing to see the point here.--Seventythree 23:17, 14 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - There is no need to turn Police Departments into new mall gunstores. --The Grimch Mod-U! 18:51, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - My spam vote is not because this is necessarily a bad idea. This is just not a whole enough idea for a proper vote, so it's just taking up space. Try the discussion page first. --Steakfish 20:19, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - DO NOT MESS WITH REVIVE RATES--Karekmaps?! 22:12, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - Review, fix, revive, resubmit. Take it to the discussion page --Ryiis 22:17, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Spam - Sorry, I can't vote anything but spam on a suggestion that doesn't actually say what it would do. From what I read above, this skill would do absolutely nothing. So you search a specific part of the building? So? And? I suppose it could give you nice flavor text about how you looked in a back / side / upstairs room and still didn't find anything / found something useless, but that seems an odd reason to buy a skill, and an even odder reason to spend 2 AP. 6. Spam for sale! - DISCUSSION PAGE!!!! --Evildemon989 Talk · Help · W! · P! · SU! · TJ! · Hai! 00:21, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Will be revised My Apologies. I'll revise this ASAP. Anyway, the advantages of searching a specific room would be just like searching a specific store in a mall: Rather than searching and having a chance of finding many different items, you could narrow it down. I'll have more details and it will be revisied. I was just worried that there was already a suggestion similar to this one.--ToastrlordT TSA 02:15, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Spam As above, and above, and above. And also, above -- FriedFish.ca 01:23 August 15 2007 (BST)
