Hollomstown Area Regional Defense (HARD) is a pro-survivor group operating in the black hole called Hollomstown. Inspired by the example of the DRRP in Danversbank, HARD is attempting to make its suburb a better place for those who are still breathing. Priorities include establishment of infrastructure (barricades, power, resources et al) and provision of services such as revivification, medical support and alcoholic refreshments.
HARD is a strongly community-oriented group. We seek close relationships with any other survivor-oriented groups in the area. Join us for a beer or two in whatever safehouse we're kipping in this week.
Mission and Protocol
HARD's objectives fall into the following categories:
Supply
Tactical resource points (AKA TRPs) require power and communications. Powering a TRP building increases the search odds for useful items and draws prospective survivors to the area. Generators, fuel and transmitters are therefore prioritized for these locations. Within the HARD's area of operation the 2 NecroTech buildings (The Porter Building and the Western Building) are of prime importance, followed by the hospitals (Theophan General Hospital and Gall General Hospital), the factory at (64,93), Whitemore Auto Repair, the mobile phone mast at the Roddoway Building and selected fire stations. Without power there can be no suburb-wide communications (mobile phone or radio) and survivors will be forced to spend significantly more AP searching for resources (weapons, ammo, medicine, beer, toilet paper).
Communication
Short-wave Radio Info | |
This group or location has a dedicated radio frequency.
Frequency: 26.90 MHz |
HARD stresses the importance of frequent communication via radio broadcasts, in-game text messaging and in-game speech. Reporting zombie activity, break-ins, revive point queues, GKing and PKing, stranded survivors, supply shortages, et al is the most effective way to coordinate survivor efforts. Broadcasts should be signed or initialled when possible.
Barricades
Maintaining anti-zombie barricades at proper levels is perhaps the most essential component to community security. Survivors without the Free Running ability must have access to shelter and resources. At the same time the community as a whole must be kept as secure as possible. HARD attempts to maintain all Hollomstown NecroTech buildings at EHB, and all libraries, churches, junkyards and banks at VSB+2 for use as entry points. The barricade status of other TRPs will vary depending on zombie activity and survivor numbers.
Public Services
Without revivification and first aid survivor numbers decline and the Great Majority increases. Survivors in need of medical attention should proceed to one of the two area hospitals (Theophan General Hospital or Gall General Hospital). HARD operates a revive point at the cemetery [66, 97] located next to St. Piran's Church. This RP is tagged with a link to the DEM revive request tool and we recommend making offical requests on this tool or on the HARD forums to ensure the swiftest service possible.
Armed Response
HARD members are known to enjoy killing baddies - zombies, griefers, killjoys, GKers and PKers. HARD does not countenance PKing within the bounds of Hollomstown and known assassins from the Rogues Gallery and Resensitized wanted lists will be met with derision. All murders witnessed will be reported to the Malton Police Department. Known PKers will be be taunted mercilessly and (circumstances permitting) shot repeatedly in the face in accordance with standard bounty-hunting procedures.
How to Volunteer
HARD is currently seeking motivated survivors of all types (scientists, doctors, gun-toting thugs, bartenders). Interested parties should be prepared to work for the betterment and defense of the entire community, and must be able to work independently in an informal setting (and when inebriated). Please contact any HARD member in-game or visit the forum to sign up.

Do Not Revive (DNR) List
Hollomstown Area Regional Defense's DNR list is now on a separate page here.
General Revive Policy
HARD encourages all survivors to make use of the DEM Revive Request Tool when requesting revives and when identifying those who need (and merit) a revive. We also encourage the use of the Rogues Gallery, an online list of player-killers and griefers that is maintained by the DEM. Those with significant entries on the Rogues Gallery should not be revived.
We request that all survivors use DNA scanning prior to performing revives and ask that no random revives be conducted at Hollomstown revive points. There are a number of zombie groups and griefers operating in the area who, if revived to human form, will destroy generators and conduct acts of sabotage (including killing other survivors). Those who persistently conduct random revives will themselves be treated as griefers.
See the Hollomstown Area Regional Defense's DNR list here.
Alt Policy
HARD members are not to participate in zerging or multi abuse. This means:
- Your alts should never come within 10 blocks of one another.
- In fact, there should always be a one suburb buffer between your HARD alt and any other alts.
- Alts must not collaborate, and must not be treated as though they are interchangeable.
