20070819 Knock Out

ShadowScope 03:24, 19 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Skill

Suggestion scope
Surivior

Suggestion description
This is a civilian skill, underneath Bodybuilding. It can allow a Surivior to deliver a Knock-Out Blow to another Surivior, provided said Surivior is below 10 HP. It will cost 2 AP to attempt, but will have +10% accuracy added onto the H2H attack. If succesful, the surivior who pulls off the Knock-Out Blow gets 3 XP (due to the fact it's not a kill, but you gain XP for the hit), and no damage is to done to the Other Surivior except the fact that he is "knocked out", and unconscious. He will be treated just like a body, and a body that can be dumped outside (just like people can dump revived bodies onto the streets).

If there is an unconscious body, it will appear to all suriviors: There are x bodies here, y bodies appear to be unconscious.

When that other Surivior logs in, he can stand up with the same HP as the first Surivior left him with. So if the First Surivior left him with 10 HP, the Second Surivior has 10 HP left. After standing up, he will need to find a safehouse quickly otherwise zombies might flock to him.

This attack saves the first Surivior AP, and, at the same time, save the Second Surivior AP as he no longer needs to go and wait in a revive clinc. He may want to go and get themselves healed, so that will take some time, but at the least, it can allow for the Surivior to try and recover. It can also add as a seperate form of punishment, in-between a slap on the wrist and Execution, so you no longer have to kill GKers.

This skill is not crossover. Zombies can't knock people out. They want to eat.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - Massive griefing potential ;-) Seriously though, this is a good suggestion. The victim needs to be below 10HP. This would mean that anyone with a shotgun could kill them using 1 or 2AP. This gives an alternative to finishing them off.
Secondly, they appear as a body when dumped outside. Thus, zombies can't eat them unless they stand up. They need only wait until they regain enough AP to stand up and immediately make a run for safety.
Finally - to everyone going "Oh noes - ninjas!!!" - such a use of this skill would be largely pointless. In a seige situation, there is no point in killing the zombies. They just stand back up again, and keep on bashing the 'cades. The only way for survivors to "win" a seige is to hold out for so long that the zombies get bored. -- Pavluk 12:50, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep! - Finally a way to punish my members!!!!!!LemonHead7t7 *̡͌l̡*̡̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡̡|͡|̲̲̲͡͡͡ ̲▫̲͡ ̲̲̲͡͡π̲̲͡͡ ̲̲͡▫̲̲͡͡ ̲|]]| ̡̡̡ ̡ ̡ ̴̡ı̴̴̡ ̡*̡͌l̡* Talk/PDA/Red Rum/MOB 13:49, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep - Oh really annoying... it's less annoying than a kill! Think! Read the suggestion! Less than 10 HP!!! DOH!!! BoboTalkClown 15:43, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - Although i am conflicted about this idea, ultimately I think the game would improve from its use. Liam Degen 16:58, 20 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - I feel that the potentials for loopholes and annoyances is in the extreme. I mean, I could walk into an NT or mall and annoy the shit out of around 15 people by knocking them over and dumping them outside. Or say 10 zed spies walk in and knock out all the occupants of one corner, then another 5 or so dump the bodies outside. Voila! Instant empty building with easy 'cades to tear down. Or maybe even the survivors can do their own version of DIRT NAP with this, in anticipation to take a mall. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:57, 19 August 2007 (BST)
It will only happen when the suriviors has less than 10 HP and be knocked out (the Death Cultists before have to kill the suriviors, which cause suriviors to spend more AP in the long term, so it is better to be KOed than it is to be killed). DIRT NAP is nerfed by the fact that the surivior who is KOed stand up with the same HP as the PKer left him with.--ShadowScope 04:08, 19 August 2007 (BST)
Granted, I still don't like it. I'd go as far to say that there is not much point in this other than a complicated, minor xp gaining skill with tight constraints on use. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:11, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - No ninjas. Suggestions have been made for zombies to appear as bodies in order to prevent survivors from killing them and have been roundly rejected. I'm just getting mental images of a crack squad of unconscious survivors building up in key buildings ready to be activated at a moment's notice. The fact that they only have 10HP each is nothing if they all have FAKs, full AP and a large collection of guns. Edit: Incidentally, if this got implemented, I'd be dumping people outside and overbarricading the entry point just to be a dick.--Pestilent Bob 04:10, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Massive griefing potential. You could go somewhere constantly overbarricaded like the area around Caiger and dump people out, then watch as they spend half their AP standing up and just trying to get back in or die in the street because they only have those 10HP if they're gun-crazy and don't carry FAKs. --Howard Bentley 04:23, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Strong Kill - Death Cultists, Griefers, and PKers, oh my! Mostly what I wanted to discuss has been said above with regards to griefing potential, and the possibilty of 'ninja' surviviors. It is an interesting idea, but the problems are numerous. --Ryiis 06:51, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - no. just no. --~~~~T''' 09:31, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - PKers could easily feed survivors to zombies. Especially in malls. I dont know, but try to revise it.--  Savant  Chit-Chat  09:36, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill No. Nice try though. --Secruss 18:31, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill- Too griefy and too abusable. --Steakfish 22:16, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill- Just seems pointless. Oh well, better luck next time Sockem 23:06, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill - One of the "keep" votes even states that this one is pointless.--Jiangyingzi 00:13, 20 August 2007 (BST)
No. Read it again. I said that using this skill for stealth/ninja purposes was pointless. -- Pavluk 01:49, 20 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - NO! what the @#$% ! way to complicated(mechanics), especially for newbs. zeds missin' meals 'cause everyone's been K.O.'d? HELL NO (and i play a survivor) and PK'ers don't want an alternative - they want to PK you. As for mall seiges, Killing Zeds and holding out untill the horde gets bored or frustrated IS the only way to win asiege bah! i'm very tempted to vote spam but i just don't like to.--Jack13 19:42, 21 August 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill - Don't Reward Characters for Playing Out of Character --Pdeq 21:24, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill PKer stands for Player Killer, not Player KO'r. This would add nothing but an odd, pointless ability. Although, the use against Greifers could be very... Entertaining...--Driaquer 05:02, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  14. Kill - Griefers and PKers would have a holiday with this. Even survivors could get an unfare advantage with this by KOing each other to prevent dying. Just not a good idea. --Sonofagun18 21:44, 29 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Using a spell-check to fix errors such as "Surivior" shows respect for those who will read your suggestion. As you have clearly not spell-checked your suggestion, you clearly either do not respect those who will read it, or are unable to spell correctly. In the former case, I consider suggestions that do not respect those who will read them to be spam, and in the latter case, I am wary of your intelligence to the point at which I automatically consider this suggestion to be spam {the fact that you also use "H2H," a phrase which appears to have no standard meaning (but probably refers to humans attacking other humans), and commit a number of errors relating to grammar towards the end of your suggestion does not help either}. --Saluton 04:49, 19 August 2007 (BST)
H2H stands to hand-to-hand combat, which is used much in Nexus War, and just is a cooler way of saying "Punch" in UD. And let's be fair. If you can understand what a suggestion is saying, then that's what matters.--ShadowScope 06:34, 19 August 2007 (BST) EDIT: For some reason I actually think this should have been a Kill vote, and those Kill Votes be declared Spam Votes.--ShadowScope 06:38, 19 August 2007 (BST)
Wow, so you care about SPELLING? If you look at the game, there are spelling errors there! Seriously, get over yourself... BoboTalkClown 15:45, 19 August 2007 (BST) Non author re struck Ryiis 17:28, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - Survivors shouldn't be allowed to become immune to attacking zombies. It gets around needing revives.--Karekmaps?! 23:39, 24 August 2007 (BST)
